Ocotillo Wells

Hey all......took the Titan out to 4x4 today for the first time....had a blast!!!
I think most of you 4x2s could do it in most areas....couldn't find a place that had the nice rocks like Walker did.
When are we going to get together and go out there as a group?? That would be a sight!!!

Crickett

p.s. I tried to attach some pics, but it didn't work. Anyone know how? I uploaded them as attachments and they showed up, but not in the post.

Thumbs up

I would be up for this any weekend next month (March) for sure. Unfortunately the only weekend this month would be the 19th. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Thumbs up Ocotillo Wells,Ca

Wow, I have not heard of that in a while! I lived in Borrego Springs for a while when i was in high School. I have been out on just about every trail out there and i miss it!! I wish i lived closer to go! I bet the titan does a great job there.

Oh, by the way, For the 4wd guys, There is a trail that goes from Borrego to Anza, Which i have never done since i did not have a 4wd. I hope you all have fun

Lived in Yuma for 16 years and went to SD quite often. I was surprised to see someone mention Ocotillo Wells. I also see a guy on here talking about going to Glamis, another small small place on this planet.

Has there been a date set in March yet? Also where's a good place to meet-up?

I was hoping someone who knows the area alot better than I do will lead this thing....that knows the trails better than I do since I've only been there once.
Walker????

Anyway, I'm pretty open in March....I'll leave it up to you all.

I was just out there last weekend with my 4x2 and had a blast. My father in-law lives in Borrego Springs. I'm not to familiar with the roads but we went from the Borrego Springs airport area all the way over to Blow Sand area and over by the dirt runway out that way along what l seemed to be a service road that lead to some type of bubbling water pits and the top of one hill. I never had any traction troubles at all. I made a video of me doing donuts but heres some pics at the top on one hill.

I spent fifteen years hauling ew radars in and out of the Chocolate Mountain Gunnery range for training exercises. There is a road north of the range called Bradshaw Road. If you head north of Niland on 111 and then jump over to the Coachella Canal you can get to Bradshaw Road. Its popular for off roading and the scenary is incredible in the springtime. Too hot in the summer though. Ocotillo Wells is ok but it is kind of barren. Bradshaw road is well maintained and has many offshoots and small dry washes to explore, lots of plant life, great camping. Just do not explore south of the road as most of that is a 'live' range. Also, watch out for the desert tortoises.
If you want a great trip, check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Where is that? What town?
Another silly question...."live range"?? What does that mean?
