SoCal off road trails

Looking to do some off roading in my 4X4 Titan. Not sure of where there are good off road trails around my area. I'm in the Inland Empire and am looking for a good resource. Anyone know of a book, maps, or other information resource that details all the good trails?

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

John

An old friend used to like going to Azusa Canyon. There was talk of closing some places and I don't know if it's still open. They used to only let a certain number of trucks in at one time.

How would I get to Azusa Canyon or Ocatillo Wells? I'm near the 10 and 15 freeway interchange.

9 hours of being stuck. we went on a monday, which mondays are pretty dam dead out there. my buddy who has a samuari and i having a 2wd pathfinder went out and hit the park. i probably got about 15 mins. of play time. when i got stuck in 4feet of mud, after a few hours, my bumper was completely submerged. the sami tried to pull me out but pathfinder woulnd't budge. we started to dig and dig, no luck. we left the pathfinder there and went out to get professional help. first we diecided to fuel up the sami, while refueling, this insane 78 ford 250 with 38's, locker front and rear, 5.13 gears...just totally rig agreed to help us out. he was headed out there to test out his new axle that he installed the day before. we hooked up the two truck together, he started tugging like krazy, my path wouldn't even budge, i didn't even think he was doing anything. when i had my window, maybe about the tenth attempt, i hear him accelerate, followed my a loud "snap". i look in my rear view mirror and only see his rear wheels spining. he snapped his front axle, since he was only in 2wd after snapping it, he ended getting stuck. the guy in the ford said that he has a buddy that can help. so him and my buddy leave. by the time they come back, the sun had already set. my buddy and this guy broought the guy was known as PTO Dave. he had pto winch on the bed of his truck. that thing just yannked me right out. i arrived there and started playing about 9am, i left the park at about 6-6 30 pm. alot of poeple after that said that i'm insane for taking my 2wd truck out there. but i have been there maybe 100 times after that and have never been stuck again. i just got a locker in my path so i can't wait to test it out there.

Did PTO Dave charge you to pull your truck out? If its the guy I'm thinking of he used to go around and wait for people to get stuck in the mud, then charge them to winch 'em out. I used take my 4Runner out there.

There are some nice mountain trails around Big Bear. Pack up some food and drink and you can spend a day in the mountains. We used to go in a group and spend the whole day up there. It was a good time.
