You'd be suprised how much you may go through trying to get things just right. Besides, a 4x8 sheet only runs around $20 (well at least down here.) I've gone through 2.5 full sheets. Of course I still have a good amount of odd pieces laying around.

Re: MDF Board

Most Home Depots sell the MDF in 2'x4' sheets. Usually they sell both 1/2 and 3/4 thickness.

I wish the Lowes around here did that, but what I forgot to mention is that sometimes you can find partial pieces at the store. I picked up a 2'x8' sheet that some customer had cut in store and not bought.

You must have seen me work. I was standing in about 6" of saw dust by the time I had mastered the circle cutting jig.

That's about what it is here.. maybe I will just bite the bullet and do it. I was hoping to get a smaller sheet.

Re: MDF Board

since it's not too expensive for the sheet just have them cut it down for you so you can just set them aside for future projects. I used up a sheet trying to make 3 boxes and a bunch of baffles. they do the first 2 cuts free.

I'm going to need a lot of cuts, and someone told me at Lowes that they wont cut the MDF because of it's toxic glue. I'm going to give it a try.

Re: MDF Board

They usually won't cut the stuff with the white laminate on it (I forget what it's called).

Re: MDF Board

At HD, they told me they wouldn't rip to less than 12" wide. Gave me a good excuse to buy a table saw.
