To the Top of the World

Went on a little trip with the family Christmas Eve to the top of the Sadleback Mountains. Had lunch. If you live in Orange County or Riverside County you guys should go up. It was cool. Not a hard trail to navigate at all. Very rocky but worth the trip. Be sure to get your $5 a day pass at a local sports store. I thought there would be no rangers but I was wrong.

Thanks for the info. How long did it take you to get to the top? Where do you start? Is there a good place for lunch at the top? Thanks.

Ya it took about 2 hours or so to get to the top. its only 8.2 miles up but you only going about 10 to 15 mph. some places even slower. Started of the the Silverado Canyon. If you live in South Orange just take El Toro inland. It turns in to Silverado Canyon and then it turns into Vila Park towards the city of Orange. Follow the link for a map.

Maybe we could get a meet together for an up coming weekend. Just be sure to get the day pass. I got mine form Big 5

As long as you have your day pass or year pass and you keep it cool, there are no problems. I did see the ranger issue a ticket this past weekend for someone that did not have the pass. My buddy told the problem with the rangers is you never know when they are coming so its best to have the pass.

Re: To the Top of the World

Only takes 15 mins on my KTM but i guess i could take the two hour trip in my titan. On a clear day that is the best view in any direction in orange county.
