San Diego trailer parking???

I am relocating from DC to San Diego at the end of next month, and need some recommendations on safe places to park/leave my 18' open trailer. Suggestions on where people park their boat trailers and such? I'd prefer a location north of the city (ie Pacific Beach) - thanks.

Good luck and I'm 100 miles away, and I still know the answer. You can't leave anything untied down around CA, think of sunny San Diego...the border is less than 20 miles away. This ain't Kansas (tho many times I wish it were).

You'll need to find a self storage fenced in area where RV's are parked, or a private trailer park.

Re: San Diego trailer parking???

My dad is in charge of storage at San Diego KOA. Its in Chula Vista. I dont remember the cost, I think its at $50/month now. Gated, alarm, guard dog. He is usually booked, but im sure he can work something out. If you are interested let me know. The only thing is that the park might sell in late '07 or '08, so it *may* not be long term.

Re: San Diego trailer parking???

Most of the less expensive storage yards are in East county. It took me 2 weeks and a lot of luck to find storage for our ski boat. Pay $80 a month at a yard next to Gillespie field. I am still on a coupla waiting lists for our 25' TT. Got lucky on that one. A friend has a huge corner lot here in El Cajon And I pay him $60 a month to store that one. Yep, storage is expensive and tough to get. Storage in PB? If you are willing to pay $150 a month you can store it a Campland on the bay (mission bay). They have a website if you decide on that option and wish to check it out.

Thanks D, but my boat is close to my house and not that expensive. My buddy has no problem storing my trailer and it is really close to my house. In the future if something comes up I will look you up.
