Better than nothing. I rode a Z400 it was like a caddy compared to when my bike had stock suspension. Gotta shift a bit more on the Banshee too since it does not have that lowend grunt

Re: Glamis Meet What do you need to bring / buy / think about?

I did some recon this past weekend ( spent weekend at glamis w/ friend). I found the best way into the flats for people towing heavy. As soon as you come off the highway into Glamis Flats Rd. make a left turn so you end up on the north of the Vendor parking. Then make a right infront of Gilmore and you'll come out into the flats. I went in 'till the pavement ended and made a left just past the bathrooms, and it was soft. I had the 4wd on, but I spinned the tires getting through ( I was towing toybox).

Here is an artistic aerial view of my directions.

Here is how it will look as you get in. This picture is old and I got it off the web so it doesn't show the bathrooms.

I was thinking we could camp close the dunes so it will be easy to spot our camp and not have people pass by picking up dirt & dust.

Re: Glamis Meet What do you need to bring / buy / think about?

Red_Rider - you are spot on with the directions good job :-)

lol my buddies and I usually go straight till you hit the first area before the drop into the mini dunes so we never have to go searching around. But as you stated if the sand is soft and we got stuff we are hauling kinda important to NOT STOP until you want to lol.

Anyone have a GPS - I think some people want to know coordinates and since I just dropped 140 for my brake controller I cant buy my garmin Etrex :-( gps that I want to be portable for my rides and other activities. Id lke to txt message those with GPS's the coordinates so we can all meet up in the same area without being hesitant of pulling into the wrong camp.

The other thought is - if you make it in just call up Jim or myself and we will find you - tell you where we are and try and get you into the spot we need you to fill the circle :-) Thats another way I work it when Im not at the Washes.

Re: Glamis Meet What do you need to bring / buy / think about?

Did anybody mention a tow strap?
Firewood? There might be some old xmas trees left yet.
I would try and have a cheapie blue tarp just in case.
Advil/ibuprofen is good for hangovers and a first aid kit is definitely necessary.

I would love to go but have to make 2 runs to Tucson this month with the Titan and the trailer, so I'm out on this one. Maybe next time.
