I'm curious... for those of you that actually wash your trucks (I got the impression last week that some don't do that very often), how do you wash? Do you take it to a car wash, or wash it yourself? If you wash yourself, how do you deal with water spots, being that everything dries so fast?
Generally BJs carwash on 51st and Bell every other month or if it gets really dirty. I bought a white truck so I wouldn't have to wash it a lot.
Also, nothing can dry a truck faster than a team of illegals working for tips. That may sound bad, but it is true.

I usually take my truck somewhere, then do the "touch up" at my house if I get an ich to make it look really good. But I have scratches on my truck from the Arizona Pinstripe trees off road and pretty much think it looks good enough lol. Especially when I plan on going to a construction site or something that will just get my truck dirty again. I tend to keep the interior semi clean though.

Usualy when I can't stand the inside I take it to cobblestone for the handwash, but generally I like to wash my truck I feel like spending time with her LOL. I use a shammy cloth to drry it which eliminates water spots, It's very hard to do with the AZ sun but I usally wash it late evening and I keep the hose nozzle on MIST that way if it drys water spots i can get it a little wet and the shammy cloth will take it right off!
I wash mine by hand, the trick is to get up early just as the sun's coming up. If you get up a little later ,the trick is to wash only the shady side of the truck then flip the truck around. Or you can just by a bright light & do it @ night.
This invention is great. Although you have to buy a filter for it after about 9 washes. (autowash)

I wash my cars, boat, house windows only with de-ionized water from Apollo Ionics.Rinse clean and drive it to remove the big stuff, dry what remains with soft terry cloth bath towels. If you leave the drops on the car they wont spot but dust will stick to them and when water dries you have little circular dirt rings. If you leave it wet,put it in the garage to dry!!!!My Titan won't fit.
A tank rental program is about $32 per month and goes about 1900 gallons, depending on the PPM's being delivered from the city feed this can vary 200-300 gallons either way.
I exchange my tanks about every 11 months for $90.If I use a pressure washer exclusively I could go about 16 months for the same $90.
I agree the team of illegals for $15 is the way to go. It works better if you tip them before they finish. They did a horrible job last time though! Maybe I should have taken my own advice and tipped him first. And make sure they go easy on the armorall. my tire threw that crap everywhere and I had to wash it again my self
I live in Havasu and it's almost impossible not to spot in the summer. I usually wash early in the a.m. right after I get a cup of the black brew in me. Or, wash late at night. Whatever you do, try to pull in the garage while still wet after you rinse. Another trick you can try is go to a big box store and buy the single filter/cartridge like you would buy for an RO system. You'll have to also buy the thread adapter. Then simply hook it to your outside hose bib. I was skeptical at first, but a friend of mine that works on pools taught it to me. If you don't think it works, try looking at the filter after a while.
