Yeah, the Tundra has one for under $4k and most are in the $4-5k range, definitely under $6k installed. I had a quote of $5k for a procharger installed on my vette.

Re: Supercharger Group Buy!

I figure at some point they have to reach the threshold of their R&D on the kit and they'll then be able to drop it to a reasonable amount. They put the time and money into it first and they'll reap the rewards but when the comp finally starts they'll be selling this kit for 4,200 max.

To the big man at Stillen: We have almost 37k dollars in first quarter sales dollars here.

This number is with a big brake kit for me as well, figure I'll need them with the extra juice.

Re: Supercharger Group Buy!

Why do they never reply when I post the prices of their competitors. I always hear R&D costs. Does this mean no other maker does R&D? That's BS.

I know what your saying they didn't invent the wheel here but they are the only player and can reap the rewards. I just hope at least 2 others come to the table together then a pricing war will begin or possibly a supercharger that develops more hp and tq than our only option now will emerge. It is shaping up nicely with the turbos arriving as well.

Maybe they aren't replying because it's 10 PM in California and they aren't at work right now haha...

And triple black you mention the prices of their competitors. Except you are overlooking one key fact...they don't have any. No one else makes anything for the Titan as far as forced induction goes. I've been holding back from saying this for awhile but this turbo kit that's being talked about is pretty weak. He is around 100 HP less than stillen and that's at the same boost, you need to run methanol instead of just doing it right and using intercoolers (I know that you say this is the setup you have been running for years, and that's fine, but I dont want to have to keep checking up on my methanol levels, I sure as h@ll don't want that stuff in my truck, needing to use respirators and gloves just to handle it??? and can you say fireball if you get into an accident?) plus what is the cost of an average 5 gallon tank? How long does 5 gallons last?...that would probably add up pretty quickly, and Stillens supercharger kit comes pretuned...your telling me that Randy's turbo kit will be pretuned? (I know he's using a piggy back fuel controller, but he is currently waiting on a tuner for everything else) It is very similar to the situations with the 350Z and G35 engines. Greddy, HKS, Turbonetics, Vortech...basically all the major players have some sort of forced induction, however stillen and vortech (and I'm not 100% positive on the vortech) are the only companies that come pretuned. In the beginning it might look like a cheaper option but what about the couple grand it will take to tune the truck to make it work with the turbo (not including at least a grand to install it, I would be very surprised if this took less than 10 hours just to install) some guys are spending 10 grand on their 350Z's and G35's and are only getting 10 hp more than the stillen supercharger kit (which averages around 6K)...Randy is waiting on the Nissan tuner right now, does that mean that in addition to the cost of the turbo we need to buy an additional tuner then have someone figure out HOW to tune it (which means costly dyno time). Also will there be an engine warranty with this kit? I HIGHLY doubt it, and I can gaurantee that it will not be CARB legal (I know that doesn't mean anything to the other 49 states, but to California Titans it means alot!)...Don't get me wrong I think the idea is pretty neat, even though I'm a bigger fan of superchargers than turbos, every addition to the performance market interests me.

Oh and just something that I thought I would mention...Stillen is the only forced induction kit for the 350Z and G35 3.5 liter motor that has not blown up an engine. Greddy, HKS, Turbonetics, Vortech, ATI...you name them and they've all blown up multiple engines, Stillen is the only company that can say they've never lost an engine with thier superchargers...If you don't believe me check it out on the 350Z forums.

Re: Supercharger Group Buy!

For the performance gains, to say nothing of the difficulty of the install...I wouldn't expect many buyers...even at the suggested price.

Well put TitanFan59.

Discount to 3499.00, I think somebody is on CRACK!

The Tundra kit is 5 psi, non intercooled and the suplimental fuel kit is another 1200.00

Similar Magnuson kits are about the same price. The SSR kit is 6995.00.

Re: Supercharger Group Buy!

I would be interested to see how many Stillen has sold to date. I haven't seen more than like one person on here with it...so I am guessing if they don't move many in the near future they will be rethinking the price of them.

I think there was about 3 people that bought the kit when it first came out over on CT after that I couldnt tell you. Someone was saying there was a dealership that was installing these on new titans and selling them like that off the lot was it in Texas maybe? I agree with the price tag just not in too many peoples price range (not mine anyway) For that price I would get a lift, tires, rims then drive to best buy get a 42" plasma and then go to the bank and deposit the difference back into my account.

Re: Supercharger Group Buy!

When new parts come out with no competition the price is high. Thats just the way it is. Competition levels the playing field. Not until another couple of Titan blowers are offered will things get interesting. However once Vortech and ATI both put out superchargers that are both cheaper and make substantially more power than the Stillen I am sure the Stillen's price will drop quite a bit.

Re: Supercharger Group Buy!

Does anyone have a video of this supercharger in action? That may pursuade me to get one. I heard that they are a lot better in action than they are on paper. Just like the Titan engines.

I've been holding back on replying to this post for awhile now, but everytime I read it I get Pi&*ed off. Dude, you need to pay attension and do alittle research before you post stuff like this. I'm not trying to be competition to anyone. I may only build a few of these kits. And to call my turbo kit weak is alittle premature since I'm only in the first month's of research. I bet Stillen was not laying down number there first couple month's into development. AS far as 100 HP less, maybe you need to go back to math class. I've made 360HP and 450FPtrq so far and I'm still in the early stages. And if you do not like the methanol, noone says you have to buy it. This kit will also have a indicator to alert when the meth level is low. And the fuel tank comes with the kit. Everything comes with the kit. And the fuel lasts a pretty good while. My kit WILL come pretuned and very easy to install or remove. Stillen's supercharger is a very nice system. And it looks very inpressive. I'm not trying to compete with Stillen. Most of my work is one-off stuff. I have built some of the most power turbo kits ever built. I just thought that I may offer a few of these turbo kits to the public if someone wants one when I get it finished.
