Re: Group Buy on VKPRO power module

One quick question, i see that this is a "plug & play", but what about taking the truck into the dealership for service, do you "unplug", as i am sure the dealer will say that the warranty is voided with addition of this programmer.

just wondering??

Good question,

Because of where this mounts, the dealership will never even know that it's in there. If you want to take it out anyways, you can. But I wouldnt even worry about it.

Re: Group Buy on VKPRO power module

So how do I go about getting rid of my 2 deg timing advance? Do I need to go to the dealer and pay to have them reset my computer?

No. I am sure the first step in the instructions will be to unplug the battery. If the battery is unplugged for more than a few minutes it will forget about the 2 degree advance you currently have. So when you finish the install of the VKPRO and reconnect the battery you will be good to go.

You're going to have to unplugged the battery for more than a few minutes, probably a few hours. Leave it off overnight to be sure.

Guess it must have started shipping or the first batch is all spoken for. Cause price now shows $695 (original $770).

Disconnecting the battery will not remove the timing advance... no matter how long you leave it disconnected... neither will resetting the ECU. The only way is with the Consult or Cipher software and laptop.

Just curious as to how you are sure. Have you tried unhooking the battery to see if it went away? Not trying to flame or anything, but I do have an order for one and when I talked with Kyle he said he wasn't sure on this.

Shailey have reported he lost his timing twice when he unhooked his battery for a long period of times. Once he say 6 hrs and another time overnight. To be sure however I would just go to the dealer or someone with the right software and have it check out.
