Re: ***NEW Vk-pro II***

Hey guys,

I just thought I would let you know the great results one of my customer's (the infamous shailey) just found with his testing of the VKPro II.

Well, I installed the Stillen VK Pro earlier today on my truck and it definitely does some good for us. I knew that quite a few people out there would try to say that I was falsifying things, so I did a video of the runs. Unfortunately, I was only able to get the 0-60 runs. I did a 1/4 mile run later and it is quite impressive.

As shown in the video, there are a few changes to my truck from the last time I did any tests (dyno or runs). The tires I have on weigh 55 lbs, are 32.89" tall and they are on my 18" rims. At Old Town, I was using my 17" XE rims and 31.4" tires. Also, I got rid of the magnaflow and have the factory exhaust on. I have the 2* advance, stillen intake and Stillen headers with Magnaflow cats...that is all.

Install is pretty straight forward if you can follow directions. However, there is something that is not mentioned in the instructions that should be. There are 3 ring terminals that are all ground wires. The instructions just mention ONE ring terminal. So I took all 3 and grounded them to the ECM bolt. One little bit of advice, remove the entire battery tray.

For those that don't want to watch the video and just want the numbers:

2* advance 0-60 - 6.55 seconds
VK Pro 0-60 - 6.35 seconds

2* Advance 1/4 mile - 14.290
VK Pro 1/4 Mile - 13.833

So this is quite an improvement OVER the 2* advance and I still think that the 2* advance is the BEST bang for your buck money can buy. Please realize that I did take the advance OFF my truck before I put the VK Pro in. So if you are at stock timing right now, this will definitely be a modification that you will feel...big time!

Sorry for the short write up, but I have to go outside and push my son on the swings.

For anyone that does not want to hear my commentary and wants to watch the runs, just fast forward it 4:30.

Re: ***NEW Vk-pro II***

In regards to exchanging your first generation VKPro for a second generation VKPro II. You won't need to unless you are experiencing an issue with a check engine light. On some of the early VKPro's we were experiencing a check engine light due to larger wheels and tires.

The new VKpro's have a slightly different computer which will not be affected by larger wheels and tires.

Power output is the same between the Gen 1 and Gen 2. So in reality there is no benefit to going to the new VKPro II if you already have the older one.

Re: ***NEW Vk-pro II***

Kyle,

Thanks for the response! I only get a flashing Check Engine light that just magically disappears from time to time when going down the 1/4 mile or just hitting it on the freeway. Otherwise it handles like I want it to :-)
