Thumbs up DFW - Lounge (or anyone else in north TX)

Why not make a lounge for locals to chat..? I just got my truck.. its an 04 (I know first year - but for the price I couldnt resist) 4x4 king cab...

I better update my sig - mods are already on their way. I will be doing timing advance today since I have the Cipher (OSIRIS/UPREV). Im on the list too - if anyone needs it done..

The 2 Degree Advance

CFS dual core radiator also on the way cause i dont want to have to deal with the OEM plastic crapping out on me. Transmission cooler (external) and of course all new hoses.. Im going to wait on wheels for now (if I can hold off).

I love Nissan - own a 05 350z that I drift with (sometimes auto-x but drifting is my fav!) has all the bells and whistles (minus boost).. ...and now the Titan (my first V8)...

I saw the meet thread - surprised of the lack of participation. Soon there will be more activity in here.. I already know a future titan owner and BlueBob (I was part of DNE back in the day too in my Maxima - but Blue's been in the game way longer)

hope everyone is ok from last nights storms/tornadoes

Buddy of mine in irving had front and rear windshield busted from golfball/baseball size hail... I think everyone has been getting hit pretty hard from KC, OKC, and DFW...

Welcome. Yeah at first we weren't getting much participation. After I put up the thread, seems like all the DFW guys popped out of no where. I am going to try and arrange a meet like on a Saturday this time and hopefully soon. I want to make sure I get some good pics and possibly put together a video as well.

Re: DFW - Lounge (or anyone else in north TX)

WOOT! all my parts came in from courtesy parts...

left and right rear axles... radiator hoses (upper and lower), in cabin micro air filter (since the previous owner smoked like a damn chimney), and ALL the power steering hoses.. Picked up drum brakes from VatoZone (cause Im sure they have NEVER been replaced).

This is going to be a BAD A$$ turning wrenches wkend for sure!

Re: DFW - Lounge (or anyone else in north TX)

info on the RAD I got - looks like its a stillen BUT its WAY cheaper than if you buy from Stillen themselves..

Quote:
CSF 3328 - Also known as CSF Race Performance Radiator / Stillen

This is another All- Aluminum radiator. This is the 2-row model which is slightly thicker. It has been reported that this was the radiator that Stillen was selling in the past and might be selling again right now. There are threads that say that when they ordered a Stillen radiator, they received a CSF 3328 box.

Specs:
CSF RACE TRACK PERFORMANCE RADIATOR, ALUMINUM CORE/ALUMINUM TANKS, 2-ROW -- 23.44 x 27.12 x 2.06 in. core size, 27.12 x 2.75 in. inlet/outlet tank size, 1.38 in. top right hose fittings, 1.38 in. bottom left hose fittings, 18.12 in. transmission oil cooler size; Special race track model supplied with oil cooler;

Engineered to the highest specifications; No need to move fittings, drill additional holes, or stretch hoses to fit properly because it will fit exactly the same as with the original manufacturer's parts; Designed with CSF's advanced technology deep drawn tanks.

Info found on this thread - Radiator Information / Reference Thread

Re: DFW - Lounge (or anyone else in north TX)

Radiator installed - CHECK

Transmission cooler bypassing radiator alltogether - CHECK!

Everything is running smooth - takes some time for the tranny to warm up...

Old radiator DID have a crack in it (I didnt even know!) so Im so happy that I did this...

I have a few pics of the install that I have at home - will have them posted this evening.. I still need to find something to plug or cover up those 2 connections on the radiator where the trans hoses use to go..

Next up - rear axles and the drum brakes..

Re: DFW - Lounge (or anyone else in north TX)

external tranny cooler is rockin!

Take note - this is after about 15 mins of driving after everything is warmed up... Its gonna be a HOT one this summer... This is going to help bigtime..

Also after about 30 mins - the temp on the tranny gets right the "cog" gear lookin thingy..lol
