Mother Nature is smiling favorably on us and the weatherman has removed all chances of rain for this weekend!

4 MORE DAYS!!

Trailer is already getting packed up and ready to roll. I will drag it to the house on Wednesday to finish loading it.

I will be rolling out of Forney on Friday morning between 9 and 9:30am if anybody from the Dallas area wants to caravan with me. My route is 20 west to 45 south to Corsicana, then 31 west to Waco. From Waco I will take 35 south to exit 306 (FM 1237). From there it is a winding path (about 12 miles) out to the lake. We could meet near 45 and 20. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Getting ramped up ready to go for this weekend. One question though, this is our first time attending, and we are leaving out Friday morning and might get there before anyone else, does anyone else have a preferred RV spot (*noting that Slwilson advsied he wants the first on the right b/c of dogs*). Being the noob dont wanna set up where someone who has camped at previously and wants the same spot again.

Not really. Jody prefers the double back in site because he has the longest truck/trailer combo. Picture this: you are at the entrance to the Turkey Roost camping area. You can go right or left to go around the circle. If you go right, the first site is the one that I prefer cause of my dogs. There are several more rv sites on that side of the circle, then a large double back-in site that is adjacent to the back fenceline that separates the Turkey Roost camping area from a small residential area. Just past that site is several tent sites, a sand volleyball court (you will be opposite of the entrance by this time), a few more tent sites, then several more trailer sites right next to the bath house (this is the furthest from the entrance to the Turkey Roost area). A little further is a small parking lot with more tent sites, then you are back at the entrance again. Just make sure the site you back in to has electric and water. In the center of our circle is of course the pavillion. Hope this helps.

What time do you anticipate arriving? Jody will probably get there about 11:30-12. I should get there around 12:30-1. The park has never really given us a problem about showing up early, but technically they don't have to let us in till 3pm.

We might arrive 1130-1230 ish..... 3hr drive, and might get to leave the house at 9. If they don't let us in its all good. I gota generator so well parkit n sit under the ac till they let us in. But like you said from my experience most if not all places I've been don't have any issue with early arrivals.

We will be comming from Granbury, which is about 45 miles south west of Fort Worth, but we will be taking the scenic route through the Hill Country to get there. {144s>67s>220s>281s>36s into the park} My kiddo's will be having a "family emergency" on Friday, so no school for them. (emergency camping trip that is....)

That is hilarious. Ya'll sound like us, as we have pulled the same stunt a few times. I am a firm beleiver that a friday in november (the day before opening day of deer season) should be a state holiday. I have yanked the kids from school and played hooky many a time because it isn't.

It sounds like we will get to belton around the same time.

That is great. I will be leaving around 9:30am ish on Friday with a full load. I will not be winning any races (65MPH) if you want to caravan. Anyone else?

Corky, it will be coming down to the wire for me because I believe my truck will be ready for pick up from the body shop this Friday morning. It was supposed to go into paint Monday/Tuesday, 1 day to dry and 1 day to buff so I am hoping to the Titan gods that it will be set for Friday morning. If so, then Acidjake and I will be heading out in the morning cause LittleB is heading out at noon.

Stephen, put me down for 2 as well for dinner, cause even if I don't leave in the morning on Friday then I will roll out at noon if I get it back. And of course a tent spot. Anything else needed??? cause I know I read the whole thread about everyone deciding on taking something for everyone to eat off of for our own personal dinner towards the night time, well at least that's what I got out of it. I was going to bring an extra grill to have an extra one
