Front License Plates - do you have them on?

I got my truck from Arkansas - the front plate bracket is not on it. How many of you go without the front plates?

Ever hear of anyone getting a ticket for no front plate?

Had the front plate, but lost the bracket within the first month and haven't replaced it yet. You have to have a front plate in Missouri but I have not gotten a ticket yet and haven't took the time to replace front plate.

Mine originated from Arkansas also (even though I bought it in Mississippi- figure that one out considering I'm from Texas and working in Louisiana!!). Anyhow, mine did come with a front plate (under back seat with parts for Utili-Trac). If you haven't done so, you might want to check the areas under all seats as well as the back pockets of the front seats.

As to the enforcement of the front plate rule-- I know in Texas they do enforce it (speaking from experience several years ago). It's not required in Louisiana even though that's irrelevant for me since I still have Texas plates. I don't know about other states that require a front plate.

No front plates needed in S.C. They actually only give you one plate at the DMV. Cops probably can not even see if you have a front plate because they are blinded by that big, beautiful, chrome front end!

Required in Illinois but I removed it and the front bracket. Cops don't typically have enough time to notice whether or not you have a front plate.

I'm sure the "My bracket was broken and I keep forgetting to order the new one" excuse will work at least once. Front plate is in my truck, behind front seat in the pocket, just in case.

Bad boy logicjunky. You better hope the Illinois police don't monitor this site- otherwise when they catch you, it'll be a "willful" violation and community service for sure!!!

I run mine because it's the law. I'm not giving any cop an excuse to just pull me over for anything. Not that I'm doing anything illegal but I just don't want the 20 minutes of time wasted on runnng my license and stuff. Oh yeah, and a ticket for not having it.

I think it's cool not to have the front license plate. I have low self esteem.

In Utah a front plate is required and if stopped for anything else, will add the lack thereof to the ticket (secondhand knowledge).

It is required in Texas, and while most 'city' cops won't pull you over for it just because they're too lazy to get out of their car for something so minor, the small town cops and county sherriff will do it, just because they like to be a d*ck. I live in the city, but the county I live in, the sheriff is notorious for pulling you over just because you don't have a front license plate. And don't even think of giving them any excuse as to why you don't have it. They don't care. So next time you're in Williamson County (north of Austin), make sure you have your front plate

Your not going to get a ticket in texas for not having a front license plate if your home state doesn't require one. Not all states require them. Mine doesn't, I think it's just the redneck states.

The rule is, if they serve grits for breakfast, or you suck the heads of crayfish, you have to have a front license plate.

Boy, you guys are tough on us "southern boys" having a little fun!!

logicjunky, be careful coming to Texas-- one of my sister-in-laws is a Texas State Trooper sergeant, and one of my son-in-laws is now in training as a Texas State Trooper. They don't take kindly to "veiled" threats from them thar "yankees" (BTW, anything north of I-20 is considered yankee land), especially one who has scuffs on their drivers side door post of a new Titan because he can't remember to s-l-o-w-l-y release his seatbelt- now that thar's a crime!!

Squid, you mean you guys don't eat grits for breakfast and or suck crawfish heads-- and you call us "southerners unrefined? Heck, you guys can't even talk right--- it's generally way too fast (you have to talk real s-l-o-w to us southerners)!! Besides, if we didn't have front license plates down south, the coppers wouldn't have a good target for their radar guns!
