if it's closer to head, it's closer to me, so i vote Tom Bass park also.
anyone want to help me install some stuff on my truck before then so i can have it looking purty for the mee?
Actually, it would be quite a jaunt for you and Havock. Truth is, Memorial Park is the most centrally located place when you consider everyone. Its a trip for me as well, but its worth it.

I realized that when I wrote it, but "her" baby didn't sound appropriate and "yall's" baby didn't exactly do it for me either. However, since you're here, are you coming to the meet?
Hard to say actually - since the meets up here haven't gone much past the idea stage, Houston would be the next best option for me. I have an old gf that lives in The Woodlands I could probably stay with if I came down, but that's a whole other story LOL with my dad in a nursing home and me doing just about everything for him (damn brothers!) I never really know what I do until a few days previous ... i'll have to see what happens the closer it gets

I thought you were moving up by me. You coming to the good side of town or what?
My lease doesn't end until mid-June, at which point I might move in with a buddy that is moving here to Houston for 6 months of training. Not sure though.
I'm not the biggest fan of my new job, which is making me reconsider this whole engineering thing.
I hate the corporate life, where time is money.
I hate my 8' x 8' cubicle, stuffed inside an giant room with 30 other cubicles and NO windows.
I hate staring at a computer all day, with my back to my cubicle entrance, which allows every passer by to see my monitor, but for me not to see them.
I want a job interacting with real people, different people, and preferably outdoors. One where I can be active, doing stuff, talking, socializing, and working. Not sure what to do. All I've ever considered in life for a job was engineering, and now I dont like it. I've got an engineering degree from A&M. What now?
So far, all I've come up with is a car salesman (maybe Nissan or Mazda, or Infiniti) or a teacher. I like cars, and know a decent amount about them. I like socializing, and meeting new people, and I'm pretty smart & logical and subsequently convincing. I either career might work out.
But teachers dont make much, and I've gotten pretty used to my sweet engineering salary. And car salesman isn't the most respectable "career". But then again, the word "car" is in "career", maybe that's a sign...
Until then, I dont know how much longer I can make it at this job

22nd at Memorial sounds good- I probably won't be able to make dinner afterwards (actually I just don't want VShortt getting fresh again...) So I'll propose a BYOB (Bring your own burger). Saves us the trouble of trying to caravan to a food joint, and people can come and go as they please.

That sucks. But I've been there before too. One of my main gripes in petrochem was too much travel. And then after being chased by snakes, bulls, dogs, and unhappy landowners in the snow and swamps I decided to take a desk job of sorts. Look on Monster.com and search for field technician or field service engineering positions. Sometimes companies will hire an engineer for a technician spot so you can learn how things are done and then run a team after a year or so and provide support to them if they can't figure it out. I'd hate to see you do non-engineering since that's what you sacrificed years of your life to get. Sounds like you like to work with things hands-on and there are jobs out there for that when ex-field personnel get tired of the elements and want to push pencils for a while.
I'm also starting to look outside the gates here at NASA. Not so much that I don't like it, it has to do with the mythical culture changes they say took place (yeah RIGHT). I got out of safety and into quality engineering and it just isn't for me. I don't know if I can work system safety here anymore due to the non-changes. Who knows....
I am still on for May 22nd, Tom Bass park is closer for me but any place is fine
scottsbro23, I am still trying to find out where I can get the Insane burger
a buddy of mine e-mailed the pic to me and he does not remember where he got it.
