BUT, you were on a different dyno. People don't realize they are NOT the same. They are not consistant and you cannot compare numbers from different dyno's especially single digit hp numbers. weather and engine temp will hold a slight change also as noted. do both at that place at the same time. not saying you have to just saying it'll be the most consistent with itself in the same duration not another dyno another day typa thing.
I'm thinking you could gain more or less, and also intake exhaust and other mods usually go better with chips. So it'll make a bigger difference on modded cars.
I'm hoping to do CAI/exhaust/header/chip. maybe other bolt ons as they become available. But I did that on my car and it was a nice difference. Little faster imo. Not like boost but nice.
thumbup for all the testing you've done and all the guinea pigging around for fellow TT members

Well fellas I just got back from the RSI in Houston. I bought an hour of dyno time today to...
1. Find out what RWHP are my mods are worth?
2. To find out what the Unichip is actually doing?
Mods are: Volant G2, resonators replaced with Moroso, Banks Exhaust, and Unichip.
Here is the results:
All mods best out of 3 is: 290.72 RWHP 348 MaxTorque
without Unichip best of 3 is: 294.75 RWHP 352 MaxTorque
The second run of both sets was the best runs. Here is a dyno of the two best runs.
All 6 runs averaged together had the Unichip 1.5RWHP less than the Nissan ECU.
So save your money on the chips unless you have a local tuner. I'd still like to see this thing work. I'm talking with Joshua and Jack to see what they can do.
By the way I did this on the same dyno. I ran unichip first and then took a 30 minute break (cooling fan running) to uninstall the unichip and plug in ECU. The truck never left it's position on the rollers.
I did leave one thing behind... being a dodge viper shop they now have seen the power in the Nissan Titan....grin..joking...they make 900Rwhp vipers...my little 295 aint nothing to them. I just appreciate the time they took with me.

Wow...that's gotta piss ya off, Randy. Do you have an authorized Unichip performance shop around you? That's gonna be the best way for the chip to unleash the most potential power from your mods....although at 294/352 you ain't doing too shabby!
What's strange to me, in looking at the dyno, is that you made more power at a rather rich afr of 11.8:1 or so, vs the 12.2:1, or so on the 290 hp run. The latter should be closer to an ideal best mean torque afr for a NA motor, yet it netted in less power....I may be reading it wrong...but that's how I see it. So it looks like the Unichip leaned things out a bit, which at 11.8:1 afr (up to about 4500 rpm, anyway), it would appear that's exactly what was needed, although above 4600 rpms, the Unichip may have leaned things out too much (13.2, or so).
Looks like they used a Dynojet, right?

Yeah it was an eye opener to say the least. The closet tuner is 3hours away. The shop I went to evidently has the older version of Unichip software and Unichip did not want to send them the new software without their folks flying up there to take a class. All in all I am waiting on Unichip to email me back or call. as I have sent them the dynos.
Currently downloading dynoJet software so that I can view all 6 a one time. I'll post all six today.

Randy, thank you very much for all of the information on your unichip project. I'm sure you're very disappointed with the dyno results and hopefully the unichip techs will be able to help you make the necessary adjustments to get the most out of your combination. Again, thanks for all of the info and good luck with your project.
Unichip has reprogamed my chip and is sending back to me Thursday. So I should get it back in my hands Monday. Tests will resume shortly. fingers crossed...

Well Guys the Unichip is a wash. I did 6 more dynos after Unichip had a chance to put in the new mods maps they offer. I repeated the entire range of tests last week. In reverse order as the prior Unichip tests I did the Unichip first then the stock ECU. this time I did the stock ECU first and the Unichip second. If you look at my previous post you'll see that the stock ECU made 4rwhp more...while in my repeat test the Unichip was 4rwhp more soooo common sense tells me that the tests prove that the Unichip does not do anything for the truck that the stock ECU cannot do on it's own. I do not have the second set of dynois as the shop has not provided them to me yet. I'll post when available.
I'm going to try to return mine but just in case any of you have a tuner in your area and want it I'd be glad to sell if vendor does not take it back.

Here's what they say from "El Hefe" himself just in:
My (RB's) Advice:
1. do not install yourself voids UNICHIP warranty. (Hmmm why offer PnP with two map options then?)
2. do not buy product does not perform. (proved it)
3. keep your money for CAI and exhaust as they out perform Unichip hands down.
Sorry did a little venting there here's the email response.
Randall,
Thank you for the e-mail. Our warranty policy is unchanged since we established the company and we stand behind it exactly as written. Customers seeking refunds under the performance clause must comply with the terms of the guarantee; the relevant sections are included below. You’re certainly welcome to take the kit back where you bought it and work with them for a refund; however, they are within their rights to decline as you have not complied with the terms.
Like any customer, we’re more than willing to support you. Obviously the “paperweight” is does something because once you got the correct map into it, the engine went from a loss to a “push.” The issue has nothing to do with Titan R&D but rather what your specific truck is doing. The only way we can figure that out is to either get your truck to a qualified tuner or for us to see the data required to determine what the truck is doing.
If you’d like to get your truck running the way you want, we remain ready to do so.
Jack
“For 90 days following the original owner’s purchase of a Unichip, Unichip of North America (UNA) warrants no other ECU product generates more power from a specific gasoline engine than a properly functioning, custom tuned Unichip in the specific vehicle for which it is tuned. If another ECU product generates more power from that engine within 90 days of the original owner’s purchase of the Unichip, then UNA will refund original owner the cost of all UNA parts, UNA installation, and UNA tuning. Shipping, testing, dynamometer costs and the cost of removing any UNA parts are specifically not covered by this warranty and will not be refunded to the owner.
To claim a refund, owners must provide dynamometer proof another ECU product produced more power when installed on the specific vehicle and that vehicle and all of its parts were in an identical condition other than the ECU enhancement. Three repeatable dynamometer tests must be performed using the Unichip and three repeatable tests using the other ECU product. The average of the three tests performed on each product shall constitute that product’s score for determining power. The same technician, using the same dynamometer in an identical condition with the same settings, must perform all test runs. All environmental conditions including ambient and IAT temperature and pressure altitude and the vehicle’s cooling system temperatures and drive train temperatures must also be identical for all six runs. IAT and Coolant temperature data logged information for each run is required. The vehicle must also use the same fuel for all six tests. UNA reserves the rights to, at UNA’s exclusive discretion, re-tune the Unichip involved in a performance warranty claim at no cost to the customer making the claim or to provide a warranty refund; if after a retune, the Unichip still makes less power than another product; UNA will provide a refund IAW this warranty statement.
Any and all warranties on the Unichip are void if: 1) the custom installation or custom tuning of the Unichip was performed by anyone other than a UNA qualified dealer or tuner, 2) anyone other than a qualified UNA tuner or dealer alters or modifies or attempts to alter or modify any of the electronic data within the Unichip or 3) the UNA product is used for anything other than its intended purpose or is physically or electrically damaged.

I guess that little black box Proautoman has seems more promising at half the price. With that say even this black box need to be tune and I don't see anyone in town that can so it anyway.
Here are the dynos of the two best runs for each test. remember I tested the Unichip first in test one and then in test two I tested Unichip last. Basically the product is a wash.

Lastly I'd like to say thank you to Joe and Amber at RSI in Houston. They are great people to work with and I only wish I had a Dodge Viper, SR10 or Charger so they could drop some sneakup on ya fast power. http://www.racingsolutionsinc.com/

For those of you who have the so called 100 chips sold please chime in to this thread as I would really honestly like to know how yours has worked out for you. I know there must be one in Oregon somewhere as Jack told me you where just there for them to look at the truck. I promise not to throw flames at you. I just want to know and see proff it really works on out trucks.
For those of you who are stuck like me please feel free to join the BBB compliant:

Also I need help from every Titan owner to keep this topic fresh in the search engines by clicking the link once or twice a week. Maybe we can make it a game??? Hopefully no other Titan owner gets the shaft like myself or kuntao.
