Well I'm heading to the track this Friday to do the last test on the Unichip...yeah yeah I know I'm beating a dead horse but what the hell it's cold and I'm willing...or maybe just stupid. Any you Houston fellas wanta join I'll be at HRP Dec 9th.
I'll have a data logger and pocketdyno that I'll be testing as well. Somebody bring warm alcholic apple cider.

Well just found out that a 16" chevy 5 spoke won't fit on the rear with disc brakes...Darn it...bolt pattern fine though. Was really looking forward to getting a better gear ratio.
So I guess I'll have to run 18's and my 2.94

Well, I think that the colder, denser air will be an improvement in the engine performance, but the truck has to be pushed through that denser air causing greater drag....hence, negating a quicker E.T.......pure spectulation on my part, of course.......Don't forget to pump up the front tire pressure to at least 75lbs.( I've done 90lbs. before, but I'm a documented, card carrying idiot) and remove the serpentine drive belt (won't hurt for a blast down the track.....you hope), and remove whatever you have the time, tools and talent to remove.......then run the ba-gezzus out of it...it's under warrantee.

Well the speculation part is correct, but the colder wx will definitely help lower the ET. There will be a 5mph headwind tomorrow night and that will affect the ET more than the air density.
I ran my fronts at about 60psi with no problems. The belt would probably help but that's a lot of work to get back onto a hot engine. It worked on my mustang back in the day and a few of the Chevy guys use a short one as well with pretty good results.

60lbs. is what I run in my tires for my regular day to day life. I drive between Pasadena and Memphis twice a month and very hard tires are part of my obsessive quest to score 20mpg @ 80+ mph. Other than the bald tread centers, developing rattles and teeth jarring ride, the Bridgestone Duellers seem right at home pumped up hard.......oh yea, I haven't acheaved 20mpg at 80+ mph, but I do get 18.5mpg.

I'm going out there tomorrow. My last hurrah for the calendar year. You know, I still have those shorter tires mounted to the 17" off-road wheels....
hey eric -
great it will be good to see you again. i'm gonna try to get the video camera if you want to pick on a lightning....grin
bring those 17's that is ofcourse if you'll let me borrow them for track night...i think they will give me only slightly better gear of 3.17 on a 2.94. 29 vs 32
see ya at the normal place?

Have you been to the new 1/8th mile track on East Mount Houston where Big H use to be? It's called Houston Speedway I think, anyway, It's next to Rio Bravo ( the famous moto-cross track)
