Dallas Convoy to Texas Meet in Austin

I'm starting this thread to get people together that want to go to the Austin meet on the 7th of this coming month. Several people have stated that they want to get a convoy together to go but as far as I know, no one has planned one out. I really want to go but without the convoy it won't be as much fun... I want to start a list of DFW titan owners that are going and want to travel in a convoy. Please reply to this thread if that's you

Next on the list would be to find a location to meet at. I live in North Dallas but I assume everyone that is going from Dallas will be on 35S at some point

Anyone who has any ideas about this PM me or say so on this thread.

Finally on the list would be the time we head there. I'm up for going Friday evening or Saturday morning. Again let’s discuss these details and go for a great meet!

The best way to do this is for FW Titans to meet somewhere in south FW and Dallas Titans meet somewhere in south Dallas and converge at Hillsboro. This is the only way that no one will have to travel miles out of the way to meet up. Let's hear some ideas of places to meet.

I plan on going down Saturday morning and coming back on Sunday, as do others that I have talked to. Would probably need to be heading down there by about 8 am at the latest. It will take about 3 hours to get there.

I'm in. Wouldn't miss this. BigRedTitan has a good plan. I've already talked this over with him and agreed, but whatever we come up with as a group is fine. It will definitely be fun to convoy down though so the sooner we can all meet up, the better. The Dallas guys can meet up somewhere around 35 and 20 and head south to meet the Fort Worth and surrounding area guys at 35, gas up somewhere in that area (Hillsboro maybe???) and convoy down the rest of the way. Just my $.02

I agree that we should have everyone meet some where in Hilsboro. Fort Worth Titans can meet up somewhere before that if they like, (Dallas people are meeting before Hilsboro) but lets decide on a time and location to meet in Hilsboro. I'm not fimilar with that area so if someone knows that area speak up.

For those of us in Dallas where would everyone like to meet for the drive to Hilsboro? I don't know where everyone is coming from so is Desoto close or do we want to move it farther north?

It looks like the drive from Hilsboro to the park will be 2 and half or 3 hours of drive time. I think we should plan on meeting in Hilsboro at 8ish and leave from there no later than 9. How does this sound to everyone?

Also, I not fimilar with the Lake Travis, Austin area so if someone would step up and be in charge of directions that would be good.

My brother runs a Computer Shop in Downtown Hillsboro, I'll ask him where would be a good place along the interstate to meet. It's pretty much a one exit town. They have the Outlet Mall, a bunch of restaurants, service stations and Wal Mart .

Elbo, good to see you are back on the board. I was wondering what happened to you. Still trying to get those infiniti console buttons, woodgrain door handle inserts, and a steering wheel.

I think truckintitan has a good idea. Let's meet up in Hillsboro around 8ish and leave around 9. Gives us all time to gas up, quick meet and greet, find out who knows the way so as to have a leader, get a head count, grab a breakfast sandwich and hit the highway.

rays05titanse, has spoken up and thinks that meeting in Hilsboro at 8ish is a good idea. Does anyone have a better idea or are we in agreement about meet there at 8ish and leaving at 9?

Has anyone heard from Jedidiah? I know he was on the list to go to Austin in the other thread and he lives up north of me. Also is there anyone else on that list from the DFW area that was planning on going?

Hope all is well. I'm currently out in Los Angeles promoting my clothing company. Drove the big white Monkeys and Llamas Titan out here, and let me tell you it has been a blast!

I have some pretty sweet pictures of the Titan at Hoover Dam and some other places. I will post them up when I get a chance.

All to say, I don't know how likely it will be for me to head down to Austin. I will see what I can do, but just wanted to pop in and say hi.

PS- Thanks again Wally for all your amazing help. The Retrax is AMAZING, and the trip wouldn't have been the same without it. Hope you are doing well man. I will send that shirt out when I get back.

Where are yall staying (hotel wise), I need to get a reservation otherwise we'll be driving back saturday eve.

I don't think we'll be taking the boat. Lake Travis is "Unfamiliar Territory" if ya know what I mean. Maybe next year.

We would love for you to head on down with us... That is a great question... Has anyone set up reservations hotel wise? I need to do this also..

About the boat, The lady and I are going to leave ours home as well due to the fact that it's going to be a short trip and don't know anything about that lake.

I think it would be best if we meet in south FW and south Dallas, since all of us will have to go that way anyway. You guys/gals in south FW and south Dallas have suggestions of where we can meet?

I thought it was agreed that we ALL meet in Hillsboro at 8am?

south dallas guys can meet at 20 and 35 or somewhere close to that area. maybe go up to beltline exit and wait at a business parking lot on the service road where anyone exiting can spot us. just an idea.
