Unfortunate event happened on 01-10-07

Hey guys. I write here in my bed to tell you all that my Titan may rest in peace.

I was driving at 10:00 at night Tuesday on the 10th when a Camaro cut me off and I tried to get around him when my tires broke loose on the wet pavement. That sent the truck across the median where it went airborne and rolled an uncounted amount of times. I was ejected out of the drivers side window before the truck landed back on its wheels where it in turn hit a tree. Im not sure why I wasnt wearing my seatbelt, because I ALWAYS do. Another odd thing is the story that was done on it stated I was drunk and street racing.

I was hauled off to Plano hospital. Stabilized me and then I was Mediflighted to Parkland Hospital. Day 1 I was okay, but Day 2 I crashed and almost didnt make it. I was in ICU for the first week. I just got out 2 days ago. I had numerous injuries. The ones that remain are both bones in my right ankle are broken, broken chips in each elbow, one was dislocated, pelvis is shattered but has a screw in it, and I had a chunk taken out of the bottom of my thigh. It has been healing and I just got a skin graph put on Sunday.

Ill get pictures up as soon as I can. Air bag didnt deploy which bothers me. If I would have stayed in the cab, I would have been okay I believe

Damn man. That's amazing. Sounds like you're slowly recovering. Do you remember the accident? Or the time before it? Holy crap. I was just rereading that. It sounds eerily like an accident I had. I'm pretty sure the only reason I'm still here is because I DID stay in the truck. Wow.

Re: Unfortunate event happened on 01-10-07

Wow, thanks guys for all of the kind words.

I dont remember the accident really. Just skidding sideways going towards the median. Then the next part I remember is laying there with all of the firetrucks, police and ambulance.

Oh yeah, a nice 3 minute air lift transport is $9700.

Im uploading the pics now.

Dude.....omg! I'm glad you are ok now....That's horrible. You're step rails will live on though! I guess I have the only living part of your Titan now.

I wonder if the Titan would have rolled like that if you were still stock height, and didn't have the 6'5" lift?

The Plano driver of a Red Nissan Titan pick-up truck, who was allegedly involved in a street race that ended in a violent crash late Tuesday night, is in an area hospital pending DUI charges.

At about 10:02 p.m., Jesse Sampson, 20, of Plano - who police think was racing another vehicle - lost control of his truck and spun into the median while heading northbound on the 6400 block of Midway Road at Mckamy Trail. Sampon's truck then rolled over repeatedly while crossing at least two lanes of traffic before striking some trees along the side of the road.

The impact of the crash ejected Sampson, who was not wearing a seatbelt, according to police.

The 20-year-old was transported to an area hospital by the fire department for non-life threatening injuries.

Sampson was believed by investigators to be in a street race, but the other vehicle fled before police arrived, according to officer Rick McDonald, Plano Police Department spokesperson.

"It is a very straight narrow roadway," McDonald said. "So, there is a possibility that this could be an area where people may street race."

Midway Road parallels the Dallas North Tollway for a stretch before it becomes Tennyson Parkway, upon intersecting Spring Creek Parkway.

Glad to hear you are doing better. I hate that for you. Leave it to a redneck in a Camero to ruin your day.....or several months. Was it determined who was at fault?

Yeah I believe I would still have rolled because I think the truck went end over end, back over the front. Treat those step rails good.

Pics are up

I am going to take the blame for the at fault accident because him cutting me off didnt cause the wreck, me trying to get around him did.
