Has anyone in the houston area had there 2*degree timing advance done by the dealer, if so how much did it cost, is it just a walk in walk out thing, and does it affect the warrenty at all?

Thanks,

Re: Timing Question>?

I don't know about the Houston area but here in the DFW area we have been unable to get any dealers to do the timing advance. Should you get a dealer to do it I would expect to pay their minimum charge of an hour of labor (starts at about $80). Most of us that have had it done has been through the Cypher software program which is owned by several members. My suggestion would be to come to the meet this Sunday, details are in this section. I have no knowledge of anyone in particular but with the number of members planning on attending it is quite possible that someone will have the Cypher software, if not the Uprev guys themselves, and will do the advance fairly cheaply.
As far as time, if the truck is at operating temp the procedure takes about 30 seconds and it does not affect your warranty.

Re: Timing Question>?

RB's Titan will be doing the timing advance at the meet this Sunday. If you want it done, you need to let him know on the thread or PM him.

Re: Timing Question>?

I'm starting to wonder if I should get on the list. I disconnected my battery to install my qx56 steering wheel. Truck seems slower now. Did I lose my advance when I disconnected my battery? If so, I better PM RBstitan. Someone let me know please.

Re: Timing Question>?

Ray,

From what I understand, disconnecting the battery for several hours will reset the ECU, but NOT the timing setting . If you want to check it to make sure, you can probably give Steve (Landman) in Dallas a call or PM, I'm sure he'd help ya out.
