is there anyone on here in the dfw area that is good with a buffer. i went off roading the other day and i need to take care of some trail rash. they are not deep you cant even feel most of them. thanks for yalls time
I'm not in TX, but may be able to advise.
are the scratches through the clear coat? If so, you're not going to get anywhere with a buffer.
If the scratches are within the clear coat, try out some very fine grit wet sand paper and wet sand it down to where the scratches disappear... then use some urethane based wax on it, should look as good as new.
A buffer isn't good for deep scratches... you'll end up burning the clear long before you smooth out the blemish. buffer's are good for buffing though... like removing oxidation and getting a very high shine. It does, however, take all day to wax your truck to showroom shine.
Be sure to get some help from someone who has done it before, you can rip through clear cut and paint pretty fast, even doing this stuff by hand.
I used to do a lot of 4x4 and got pretty good at buffing out scratches after every trip out on my Land Rover, but I'd be slightly more cautious with the Titan, as they run the clear coat and paint really thin.
I am trying to figure out where you can go off roading in the DFW area?
The ones I know are off trinity blvd and 360 where the trinity river flows. I've herd it's illegal but I've also seen people out there since as far back as I can remember. I think it's more for 4 wheelers, jeeps and bikes the titan would be limited to area but there would still be enough to have fun for sure. I pulled out a jeep that got stuck in the mud the other day because his 4 wheel drive blew out so I took my street truck down the hill and threw a strap over my hitch and I tapped the gas once and he was up the hill like nothing.
It is illegal in the area off of 360. Every once in a while the cops will issue a bunch of trespassing tickets and no one will go for a while but due to lack of any places to 4 wheel or ride dirt bikes in the area people head back there pretty quickly. It is not a place for a truck though, only Jeeps, ATVs and dirt bikes.

I agree with you. But back about six years ago, I was out there, and some wrangler broke up his axle, and this tow truck came, big flat bed ford, probably a F450 , 2 wheel drive with a dually on the back, and it was muddy as hello. I was thinking there is no freaking way this huge thing is going to be able to make it way back to the back sections. So me and about 3 other jeeps followed him, there were places where I was having a hard time with traction, but that blasted truck made it all the way through to the back, picked up this jeep, and made it back out.
All that being said, if my Titan was a 4x4, there is no way in hello, I would take it out there.
