I've been reading posts on here about problems with the spider gears going out for people, and I'm having the same problem at 63k miles. I've read what a few people had to say about getting the truetrac spider gears, and was wondering if someone could tell me where I could find and purchase them? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
What you're looking for is the Detroit TrueTrac limited-slip diff, not spider gears. The TrueTrac replaces the spider gears so they're no longer an issue.
Figure on about $625 + labor to have a shop install it or about $1000 out the door.

Or if you want an M226 on steriods purchase an ARB locking dif and replace your gears with 4.56 R&P (+ install kit & spacer) from Superior Axle & Gear; (about $1,300 including shipping). To protect it from impact replace your dif cover with a Blue Torch Fab cover and install the AC rear skid.
BTW my spider gears blew out because the bearing were shot and came out of alignment.

That's awesome! Superior makes great stuff, if only we had a gear option for the front. Maybe someday.

Thanks to everyone for the info! I have a 2005 Titan Crew Cab 4wd. What would be the correct Truetrac Dif that I would need to replace my Spider gears? like Size, name or model number?

Got mine from here:PORC
You will also need a set of carrier bearings and races.
Thanks TITANSS! I looked up the website you posted, and was wondering, I saw the carrier bearings kit on there, does that include the races? Thanks for your time!

why hasn't some one made stronger spider gears, so we could change out just the weak spider gears?
Improved spider gears would cure a lot of Titan rear end evils but would still leave it a one wheel wonder. With the True-Trac you also gain traction for both rear wheels instead of just one with the limited-slip differential capability.
I wonder if the TruTrac's 4 pinion spiders could be pulled out and used for those of us that want to keep our e-lockers?
An expensive way to buy spiders but ...
