So my IPDM went out last month but they (the dealership) fixed it under warrantee. Unfortunately they found my power steering hose leaking and it wasn't under warrantee. They gave me a price of over $450.00 to fix it. I'm assuming it's the pressurized hose but d@amn.
I think since my warrantee is done with I'll take it somewhere else to get fix. What do you think the cost will be from a non-Nissan service dept? I also need brakes so I'm trying to get it done right but save a little cash for my brakes too!
Anyone in San Diego know a good shop?

Re: D@MN power steering hose!
How bad is it leaking?....and how much fluid have you added to the reservoir?.......My SM told me the same thing but I got some power steering stop leak and added a few ounces....that was almost 2 years ago and I haven't added any fluid since. Yes it makes a small amount of oil on the hose from top to bottom over time but I don't see the need to replace it. I would consider grinding/cutting a slit in the hydraulic fitting at the upper hose and putting a hose clamp on it. The hose must weaken/rot from the inside and the hydraulic fitting can't be tightened so that's probably the problem. Cheap inner hose material.
Good luck.

I am not sure of on the Titan, but usually it is just a hose with 2 ends. Buy the Hose from Nissan parts or take your old hose to a Hydraulic Shop for a better hose. Take off and put on new one yourself. It is usually just a 30-45 minute job. Could be one of the easiest jobs you ever did. You may need a Flare Nut Wrench Set though. But get the facts first!

I do all hydraulic hose repairs at a place called Amazon Hose and Rubber co. I think They are national but they are located here in Orlando and they do ship. But I found this place in your neck of the woods.
