Torque Converter & Transmission Fluid

Does anyone know if the fluid in the torque converter flows through to the transmission and vice versa?

I'm guessing that it does but not sure.

I drained/filled the transmission fluid last weekend and didn't get a chance to do the TC drain/fill since it was getting dark but will do it this weekend.

I drained/filled the transmission fluid 1st time at 25k and 2nd time last week at 51k. Both times, fluid still reddish, no discoloring at all, about same color as the new ATF fluid, 3.5 - 4 qts. each time.

The rear differential oil was a different matter. It was lot darker than new. I'm going to increase the oil replacement interval for the rear.

The front differential oil color was almost the same as the new fluid.

Re: Torque Converter & Transmission Fluid

You can change all of the ATF by disconnecting and draining through the ATF cooler line while filling with new ATF. The procedure is described in the service manual.
