engine and tranny bad

I have a 2005 titan 4dr 4x4 that i have trbl with the engine and transmission.
the engine first two cylenders on drivers side leaks oil onto the piston and causes severe smoking at start up and while driving,I an=m pretty sure it is bad valve seals that are causing this.I have to add 2 or three qts of oil every 2 weeks to keep oil in the engine.trbl started at 46000 miles.I called the dealer (2 hr drive) and he said bring it in and have someone follow you because they would have to keep it to fix problem.I did as he said and drove two hours one way and had my wife follow me in another vehicle. The mileage was at 59000 when i finally got to take it to the dealer.I do all my oil changes myself, and when they asked for the oil records i said i didnt have any because i do it myself.they told me without oil records that the warranty would not cover the repairs, then i also told them that when the vehicle is in overdrive that it will shimmy and shake when it is at lower rpm.Ididnt get much of a response out of them on that. They just kept insisting that without maint records i would have to pay all out of pocket.I finally lost my temper with them and told them to shove the warranty where the sun doesnt shine because that is all its worth anyway.I now have 91000 miles on the vehicle and it is just barely getting us around.when it quits i am going to park it at a busy intersection and spray paint that nissan warranty sucks on it for everyone to see.Any advice on the engine or tranny would be appreciated.thanks

Re: engine and tranny bad

A fine example of why you should either keep records of your oil changes with receipts, or bring it in for service. Without these, there is no proof that you did your due diligence in properly maintaining the vehicle. Put yourself in their shoes. With their responsibility to warranty a vehicle within a period of time or miles, you have the responsibility to maintain the vehicle as well. Without proof, there is no way assure Nissan that you didn't abuse it.

It sucks that you're in the predicament that you're in and I'm glad I'm not in your shoes. I'd be happy to get you a great deal on a new motor and tranny when you're ready.

Re: engine and tranny bad

I agree that there is no proof that i maintained my vehicle correctly but they should have told me all of that on the phone before me waisting a day off and a lot of gas to go to the dealer.I think i will go back to dodge on my next vehicle.I bought a new dodge 1500 in 1995 and it now has 250000 miles on it and i change the oil the same in both vehicles and i dont have any trbl with it.hmmmm wierd huh but the nissan trbl is surely my fault i guess.

Re: engine and tranny bad

2 or 3 quarts of oil every 2 weeks is probably something more than valve seals. Step 1 would be compression and leak down test.

When that happens, leave the key and title in the glove box, I will come by and pick it up!

that is pretty much the same way they treated me.they also said that sludge would void the warranty.like i said earlier they can shove the warranty.if i cannot burn the tires off without something breaking in the engine i need a new brand.

Sounds like a good learning experience. Then you can deal with any bad rings and scored cylinders later.
