His posts on rv.net put his loaded trailer weight around the 7500# mark. Still within the generally accepted 85% limits, but pretty heavy.
Personally, I'd give the truck much more break in time than that, and I'd change the trans and diff fluids after a light towing break in.
Yes it does have the off road package and the big tow package. The weight I posted on rv.net is loaded for the desert water, fuel, and all the other misc. stuff including 2 quads. On this trip all I had was some clothes, 3 days of food and about 20 gallons of water. UVW of the trailer is 5690 (at certified CAT scales) So I guessed at being around 6000#

With about "800 pounds worth of stuff" in an otherwise empty trailer that totaled around 6000 pounds for this tow, that means that his trailer wieghs more than 5000 pounds...empty! Good God man! Whats the wieght cap on your trailer???? Maybe exceeding the trucks limits just a bit?? Or is this a travel trailer?

I dont know about the "exceeding the trucks limits just a bit" because he has the "big tow package" and that limit is 9,500#'s
but still, on a new truck?

I was on my way to Albuquerque, Nm to see my grandfather who was in the hospital and later passed away that night. I was towing my trailer close to empty, I maybe had 800 lbs of stuff in it. So it would've been around 6000#. Well just as I get to Flagstaff, AZ. I pull off of the highway to fuel up, and I smell this awful burnt smell. So I take it to the Nissan dealership there. They tell me that the rear differential was BURNT UP, GONE, TOAST! At this point I only have 1400 miles on my truck. They tell they can't get a hold of Nissan for any direction on what to do. They are going to need the truck for a few days!!! Nope. So they call there District Manager (nice guy), who was real affectionate to my situation, and said that if I wanted to they could refill it with new oil and try and make it. Obviously that is what I did, so after 5 hours at this dealership, I was on my way. It's about 340 miles to abq from flag. So I make it to Abq late that night, only to find out that my grandfather passed away just an hour before that. So the next day I take it Nissan which was last wednesday 4/28/04, as of this morning they still do not have a PART NUMBER, not the part. But nothing!!!! What the heck is going on in Canton, Mississippi. So my dad who has a real truck (03 F350 PSD) drove his truck out to NM so I could tow my trailer home to Ca. He had not planned on coming to the service because my parents are divorced. I got back yesterday (5/5). Now I have to fly out there whenever it is done. Right they are saying maybe 2 weeks???
Sorry for being so long winded, but I wanted you guys to get the whole story. Thanks
P.S. I will be buying another truck whenever I get this one back.
P.S.S. This is my second Titan, the first the dealer bought back do to bad wiring and tranny.
Later
Sorry about your grandfather if your telling the truth. But.......

It is a toyhauler, GVWR is 7650. This is one of the lightest toyhaulers on the market.

Own up already - you weren't paying attention. The guy had incredible misfortune, and you suggested verification of the alleged liar over a day after that had already been sorted out.
I suggested a concrete way that the speculation could be quashed. I, unlike others, did not jump to any unfounded conclusion. I did not call anyone a liar. I am not with the "Ready, Fire, Aim" crew.

If you want to find out for sure, why don't you call the dealerships he listed and contact the folks he listed? then you will know for sure.

Truly you didn't call anyone a liar, but you were a day late and pagerdaddy called you on it. You then called hiim an upset really insecure non-analytical type and then I made the mistake of trying to point out what you missed. Never mind - sorry...
I rarely tow,and nothing serious. What is a Toyhauler??Can't just be some sort of a low flat trailer for hauling motorcycles,ATV's,Jet Ski,etc-it weighs 5000 lbs empty??Why is an empty trailer so heavy ?
I'm not trying to pick a fight,or be picky,I have seen this term before-TOYHAULER- before ,and figured it was just a flat, open MC,dirtbike type trailer, but it must be a more specific type trailer??
Help,Charlie
A Toyhauler is a travel trailer and enclosed car trailer all in one. They can be up to 36 or 40' long, usually about 15-25 feet worth of living space and 15-20 feet of toy space (ATV's, bikes, etc.)
