It was interesting reading all the earlier posts in this thread, and I was wondering when someone would post the correct answer. You get the prize.

Not sure what axle wrap is... can it be fixed or is it common? i went to the dealer today and they said they had to wait for it to get worse before they could really diganose the issue...

If you buy a set of PRG's traction bars the problem would be fixed. Axle wrap occurs when you accelerate. Basically the wheels are turning forword, and want to "wrap" the axleshafts and leaf springs up around with it. When the leaf springs spring back that is the noise you hear. At least that's how I'd explain it.

Traction bars keep the leaves from wrapping and also aid in traction/forward bite.

Re: Feeling a small thump while accelerating

2006 titan, stock. 25k. Engine off, start and drive, at 15mph hear thump or clunk noise in engine area. Not tranny as this happens in low. happens only when off then start truck and drive and only once. Does not happen again while driving. Same problem as being discussed or different? does since purchased. Theory: fan or compressor clutch?

The noise you are hearing is an ABS self test. It's normal.

Re: Feeling a small thump while accelerating

I have this problem too, but mine is occuring where the driveshaft meets the transfer case, theres visible damage to the u joints and the under carriage, Nissan in my area blamed it on my Leveling Kit and Tires without any actual hard proof other than it was not installed there. I've had the truck 7 months and it still continues, heh im kinda hoping the ujoints wear out and snap so i can sue the pants off of them( wow i can't believe i just said that)

Re: Feeling a small thump while accelerating

Was wanting to know if anyone has experienced a transmission slip when the truck is first cranked & the fluid is not at the normal operating temp.
