i too got my truck back today with the new tranny . at first i mentioned that other people on forum sites were having some trouble and he made it sound like he never heard of it, but when i talked to him later that day before i picked it up he then made it sound like he has heard of this and that the nissan researches that got a few bad tranny's back said that it was most likely metal shavings from the casing causing the tranny to go bad. so he said that i SHOULD have one of the newer trannys that had the problem corrected. ill just have to wait and see. i just got the truck back so i didnt drive it around too much but so far so good. i dont know if its just because ive been driving the rental but it seems like i can hear the the tranny a lot more now (like the whining sound of a race automatic on a drag car).

This thread scared me (the original one).

I loaded up an LP tank in the bed and took off to exchange it (gotta grill!)

Turning the corner out of our develpoment and hitting the gas I heard a thump and fell the thud all the way to my feet on the floor.. I though "oh ****.. not me! I have only had the radio problem to date! Why me!"

No lights came on, seemed to drive fine, so I kept going... trying to get it to happen again. And it did, once or twice while stopping or starting..

Then I thought "oh snap!" (I really don't say that, I just think it's funny) "I bet that empty LP tank is rollin around in the bed!"

Stopped to look, sure enough. My bungees had let go.

Lets just say I was very happy. I've checked for every problem people are having and like I said, so far it's just the radio which I can live with since I have XM.

Red face Thump!!!!!!!!!

I have felt a severe thump in my truck also, bad enough that it actually rocks the truck. It feels as though it is jammed in park and then releases, the scary part is it only happens during accel. so we know it isn't in park. Is or may this be the same thump you are all talking about?

I have also had a slew of other problems, had to have my front brakes replaced because they were warped. My overhead console is cracked all the way down the middle, my front door windows don't work right, my windshield stress cracked, my radio fades in and out whenever it wants accompanied by a snapping sound in the steering colum, I have a pass. side cab mount that was not installed properly, and still isn't fixed. And to top all this off, the dealer slammed the drivers side front corner of my truck into the pillar between two bays.

I have had my share of headaches with this thing, but it is still a hell of a truck. I just wish they would get it right. I am calling the BBB and Nissan1 tomorrow and asking for/demanding a new truck, as mine has spent more time in the shop than out. We shall see what happens.
