just changed oil and it still shows 1/2qt low

I just changed my oil and filter and it shows Im a 1/2qt low still. The book says 6 1/2qts for oil with filter change and thats what I put in.

I have always changed my own oil and this is a new one to me.....me scratches head..

i had the same problem. i think they say 6 1/2qts just to put you in the middle of the dipstick range. too much oil can be bad and also oil will expand a little when it is hot. i put in another half qt to get me to the top of the range, more for piece of mind, 6 1/2 will get the job done though.

Im going to put in another 1/2qt and call it good. I called Nissan and they say there books read 61/2qts with oil filter.

I read this at a differant website "The engine holds 7 quarts of oil, another clue of how serious Nissan is about Titan being the real deal. Maximum trailer capacity is 9500#'s." This one to be exact http://www.mrtruck.net/titan.htm

I have found that it takes 7 quarts. As a side note, my 2000 tundra came with a dipstick that was 1/2 inch to short. Now that caused problems. Toyota sent evertbody a new stick after about 6 months.
