Update on "thump while accelerating"

Fri. morning I started up the Titan and placed it in drive. As I am drving down the street I dont feel the trans shifting. I look down and notice service engine soon light is on and see the AT light blinking. I turn it off and start it again. Light still on. Drive around the block and the trans starts shifting again. Took it to dealer Fri afternoon. Service rep just called back and said the MIL was due to 2 trans codes. Said the "thump" may be related. I did not ask what the codes were, sorry. Said he has to call the Nissan tech line on Monday. Will keep you posted.

sounds exactly like what happend to me. service light came on, trans wouldnt shift then got the blinking at check light. my code was P1730 (some tranny malfuncion code). i took the truck to the dealer, where it is still at and their solution was new tranny. and of course the tranny is on backorder so i have no idea when it will be done.

Just got the dreaded call. New Tranny needed. Said the "thump" was a symptom. I was SO PISSED, I did not ask for the codes. Said tranny will arrive from Tenn. on Wed. Should be ready by Friday.

After you pick it up, will you please scan the repair order and/or post the code(s) thrown?

I would make sure that they are giving you a NEW Trans. and not some rebuilt one! I have not had very good luck with the rebuilt ones. And will not settle for any rebuilt Trans any more. If I was only able to get a rebuilt trans from the dealer, I would not hang on to the truck I would get rid of it after it was fixed, Theres no way that I would hang onto a low mile truck with a rebiult trans, My last truck that had a trans problem, The dealer put in five of those cheap Rebuilt Trannys, all under warranty and I was not very smart I should have sold the truck and got a new one after the first rebuilt failed! I have learned from the past and this will not happen again to me.

yeah i got a loaner, but nissan will only pay 30 a day for an enterprise rental, this means i get the economy car . when i went down to get the rental car they had the new chrysler 300.....so i had to get it. I had to pay the extra that nissan wouldnt pick up. so i had that car for the weekend, but i took it back after a few days to get the free one.
