I sent this note to Concept Pattern, Inc (http://www.conceptpattern.com/). I purchased two of their differential covers under group buys from other forums. If you are interested let me know. If they have one or can make one for the Titan, I will try to negotiate a group buy. I think we bought them before for about $100. They held about a quart more fluid and were finned aluminum construction that helped shed heat way better than the small stock ones.
"Hello - I am a Nissan Titan owner and a member of Titan Talk Forum. The Titan is a new for 2004 full-size pickup. One point of weakness seems to be the differential getting so hot that it burns the paint off the cover within a few thousand miles or quicker with sustained running. The differential is a Dana Spicer 226 with a 12 bolt cover.
Do you have a higher capacity aluminum differential cover to fit our application? I looked through your catalog but didn't see it set out.
If not, is it something you could make? I think many titan owners would be interested in purchasing such a differential cover."
Juma,I'm game at $100-$150 or so.The differential is apparently just "OK" for the Titan,so more oil would have to be a plus.Would help the looks also. Thanks,Charlie
juma, thanks for the info went to the site did'nt see anything about the titan.do you remember which one you ordered?
jack bacile, the owner of concept patterns is on vaction for another week. I caught him just before he left and he was just back from the nissan dealer to look at the cover. he ordered one. when it gets in, he will try to work from that to make a pattern. he said it looks like the dana 44 but has 12 holes instead of 10. He thinks all he has to do is use the 44 template he has and drill it for 12 holes. I'm tracking it and will post as soon as something is known. probably be a few weeks or a months though. nothing like this really every takes off too quick. juma
Juma, any chance we can set up a GP and get them cheaper? There seems to be sufficient interest.
I don't know but generally I think it would take 40-50 of them to get him to back of the price any. On the impala forum, I think we had a GP of 60-odd people and it went way past that as the word got out on how good it was. I'll ask, when I talk with him in a week or so. juma
