Sold it to a Honda Mechanic who tore the engine down to see the damage. There was none! I changed the oil in my wifes Durango once a year with a filter change at 6 months. The thing runs great and oil analysis showed great results.

I agree, we run Amsoil 0W-30 in all our vehicles (or we did until we changed our car stable around). The Titan will be getting 0W-30 tomorrow, finally got around to it. Poor truck has only had its oil changed once in its life at 4800 miles, we are 12,500 now on dead dino..........oil still looks clean though, but the truck is fussing so its oil change time. We usually do a filter change at 6 mos or 12,500 miles, then dump the oil at 1 year or 25k, have done oil analysis in the past on 25k 0W30 and it was still showing good, but changed it anyway.

I don't see many folks talking about Redline. Any thoughts. I have used Amsoil in my suburban-worked great but switched to M1 and haven't though of anything else. I have, frankly been lazy. We have 2600 on the truck and I want to change the oil this weekend-any suggestions...M1, Redline, Amsoil, Lucas.Maybe everyone's favorite....tension builds....building.....crapzoil..er-uh Penzoil. Seriously I have a M1 filter so thats decided but what oil?

Amsoil ASL 5W-30 | Mobil 1 Super SYN 5W-30

Testing and graphs of test results could be biased, but, FWIW:

For you guys using Amsoil. Where do you buy it. At their on-line store? Can't find local dealer.

Looks like they don't make it easy for some reason:

http://www.amsoil.com/frequent.htm#dealer
Q. Where can I find a Dealer near me?

A. You can request the location of the nearest AMSOIL Dealer on the form here. You can also find a Dealer by searching your local Yellow Pages. Or try one of the Internet Yellow Pages by clicking here.

Which referred to 'Dealer on the form here' does not provide that info - what you are referring to?

BTW, IQ9, what is a 'Venture Clear Bra'?
Will research & try to find out - but how do you like, what has you experience been with it? Where did you get?
Thanks for info!

After some searching I did find two phone numbers for AMSOIL here in town, but no answer or voice mail. Its too difficult to get. I'm just going to switch to redline or royal purple.

billaku, The venture clear bra is a normal claer bra but it is not made by 3M such as Stonegard. It tends to be a bit thinner I think 7 mils vs. 8 mils on the 3M. I like it because it forms better than 3Ms product but it is just a bit thinner as I am told. It was not cheap but a repaint would be more. I got 2 days after taking delivery of the truck. All of the overspray was cleaned off by Sam @MACHIII where the bra is but the rest of the ruck was covered in reddish rusty overspray. Think had I not had the bra installed I might have no fully realized that the entire truck from top to bottom was coated. 21 hours got it clean and no thanks to Nissan or the dealer. Soory kind of a rant. I think I found a dealer for Amsoil here in San Jose-Winchester Auto, or so I am told. We will hopefully findout tomorrow.

www.mdvsynthetics.com His username is iwannabmw on maxima.org. I believe the guys name is mark. Tell him you found him on maxima.org and he'll sell the oil very, very cheap. talkinghorse on maxima.org also sells for the same cheap price. I believe they sell it at member cost. With volume they can still make good money. Both are regarded as very good dealers. I order mine from Mark (aka iwannabmw) He will sound the oil out immediately. It usually takes 1-2 days for me to receive it.

Amsoil Online Store

Ordered 10W30 Syn Motor Oil & 80W-90 Syn Gear Lube online.

Ordered with 'Preferred Customer Kit': $10/6 mo.

Say you will get 'dealer price', but don't tell you what that is - says will show in final charge/invoice. Don't see what that is online before order processed there.

Prices with 'PCK', taxes (from Arlington, TX to me ~ Houston, TX, so TX state tax) & delivery charge included in cost of each item:

12 qts motor oil: $5.98/qt

8 qts gear lube: $7.18/qt (should have ordered 2 gal - too early in morn.!)

Prices as would have been without 'PCK', with taxes & delivery charge included in cost of each item:

12 qts motor oil: $6.87/qt

8 qts gear lube: $8.67/qt

Ordered yesterday - Tues. AM, received today - Wed. PM by UPS.
Wonder if, would imagine, they have other distribution centers?

This is directly off the maxima.org site. Broken down it's 5-30 and 10-30 for $4.45 a qt., 0-30 $6.25 a quart,
GD: Get your car ready for Fall/Winter. As always, I sell AMSOIL products to our members for Dealer Cost (~25% discount)...over the past couple years I have saved our members a lot of money while providing honest advice and no pressure.

Current price examples: AMSOIL 5w-30/10w-30 $53.40/case ($70.20 retail); AMSOIL Series 2000 0w-30 $75.00/case ($100.80 retail); AMSOIL ATF $68.40/case ($93.00 retail), complete line of AMSOIL Gear oils, including hard to find GL-4. A "Case" as used in this example consists of 12 quarts. Individual quarts and gallon containers available at similar savings. Prices plus applicable sales tax, in accordance with AMSOIL sales tax policy, and shipping. Shipping charges for a case of oil typically cost $8.25. I have all products shipped directly from the AMSOIL Product Center nearest you...this assures you of the freshest products, widest selection, quick delivery and it essentially cuts shipping costs in half.

Outstanding, personal service; excellent feedback/references. Please contact me directly at eander2585@aol.com or send PM for additional information and/or discount price quote. PayPal & major credit cards accepted.

For a free retail catalog, or to view on-line, visit my website at www.lubedealer.com/lonestarlubes. To request a free catalog click on Preferred Customer option, complete required fields, use customer number 232631, scroll to bottom of page and select the free catalog option, select "order". AMSOIL will send you a free catalog...contact me for dealer cost discount.

This is from the guy talkinghorse. iwannabmw sells at the same exact price. I don't see how you can beat these prices if your going with Amsoil.
