I have something like that... It's a humming noise with anything between 45-85 mph and everytime I touch the accelerator it humms.... And it doesn't even. Have to be speeding up just touching it does it if you find out what it is I'd love to know I have a 06 2wd KC

Not being a 4WD I'd suggest what you're experiencing isn't related to the OP but more likely just tyre harmonics (or even engine noise)...
If you're running even a mildy aggressive tyre (such as an A/T) you may be getting feedback through the drivetrain when you apply very light load.

Based on information provided on this forum I think we can conclude a certain degree of "hum" is normal in 4WD Titans...

Unless it's a new development that you've never noticed before and you haven't changed anything (like tyres) then I'd relax and enjoy the ride

Re: front diff hum noise between 40-50mph

It could also be wheel bearings. Is there any vibration or just the noise?

It's completely normal. Every 4x4 I have owned makes a humming noise when engaged.

Re: front diff hum noise between 40-50mph

NOT NORMAL - in my opinion. hahaha. yes, in 4wd our trucks made a noise but I think I know exactly what you are talking about as I had the same issue on my truck. when you barely touch the pedal it makes the noise and then dissappears while you are under throttle. when you let off the throttle the same noise comes through faintly and then dissappears right? HIGHLY suggest you pull the front diff cover and replace the fluid. I guarantee you the fluid will be grayish with shavings. After draining my fluid and the shavings, i put in new fluid and it went away. Its probably a sign of the front diff going out but changing the fluid right now will prolong the failure. Add lucas and that will help prolong it further. If you call Jeff from Performance Lifts or Greg from PRG they will tell you to check the snap ring on the axle as it is common to pop out and that the noise in 2wd on the highway is not normal.

+1

I just re-read Vkeven's first post and realised he's getting the noise while in 2WD...
The info I provided was under the incorrect assumption the noise only occurred while in 4WD.
Knowing this, I'd be a little more concerned and fully agree with the advice umedevelopment has provided...

Re: front diff hum noise between 40-50mph

I got a diagnostic done on my t and its the rearend. Something in there is toast and they say I need to replace the whole thing. Other members say a tru trac will fix the noise. Check your rear diff fluid and see if its messed up.

Re: front diff hum noise between 40-50mph

Check your front dif fluid and check the front U-joints. There is a TSB (NTB10-52) for noise or vibration caused by front u-joint. I had the TSB done on my truck (u-joint replaced) and it made the hum/vibration go away.

Does this only apply when 4x4 is engaged ?

No > it will apply in all applications as regardless of in 4WD or 2WD, the front is rotating. If it were me; I'd pull the front diff and look closely at the fluid that comes out. If nothing is wrong with it; there is no harm in changing out the fluid anyway. If clear; good chance its the front u-joint although with a u-joint application; i believe you would have constant vibration. Pull the cover bro.
