first of all, make sure its on level ground. secondly, fill it till its running out of the fill hole. approx 68 oz. if this is not correct, somebody correct me. its what i did to mine, w/ no probs so far.
I just did mine on Saturday with about 4K on the vehicle. My level was fine, but it was nasty looking. I did the Valvoline 80-90 synthectic blend for right now since I couldn't fine any pure synthetic. I just filled until it started dripping from the fill plug. It took just a little over 2 quarts.

cHANGED MINE AT 3000 MILES TO MOBIL 1 SYNTHETIC AND AT 7500 MILES I CHECKED IT AND STILL FULL AND OIL VERY CLEAN. I THINK THAT SOLVED MY PROBLEM.

What kind exactly can we use? I'd like to switch to Mobil1 myself but I'm a little leary because I keep hearing on here that it has to be an exact type. Can someone shed a little light on the subject? Thanks!

Yep.....hi OnebadSE......I went to the dealer today.....looked at the pretty aluminum finned rear differential cover on an 05 Titan and it says.....use 75-140 wt. synthetic oil only.........so thats what Nissan appears to be doing like many other high performance manufacurers use and specify.....volvoline has synpower 75-140 Gear Oil $14.44 qt. at auto-zone...that's what I'm gonna use and get that aluminum cover that also holds more fluid.not sure how much more yet.....that's where I'm going with this......engine oil will be synthetic too!!
Excellent. Thanks for the info. But my dealers 05s don't have that shiney finned diff cover. What's up whit that? Also, are the front and rear diffs the same in that they both take the same amount? And for those with the finned cover, are they front and rear?
