If you could truly control the data into the poll, you'd find an extremely low failure rate or this forum would be lit up like a christmas tree with complaints. As I look at it now, it gives the impression that 18% of the '04 owners polled have had problems. This only relates to those that took the poll and has no bearing at all on the total Titan ownership. I can applaud your efforts to gather useful data, I just think there are a lot of shortcomings with this approach.

I also hope that those looking for valid data in making an important decision such as buying a vehicle would not give much credence to this poll.

Hmmh ,I think if you look at the poll, and look at the data it show very few diff problems. And most that are voting are no votes. And you can only vote one time so the data sould be accurate. Anyway the results have turned around .

Oil Filter

Can someone tell why the oil filter is so small in comparison to the size of the engine?

Your profile states you have an SL Titan? How did you get one of those, because there is no such thing?

Is so. The SillyLittle a limited production model tuned out to be less popular for some reason & went the way of the Blackwood.

Just joking here SL… initials perhaps?

I guess because if they made it the same size as the engine, it wouldn't fit under the hood.

No problems with my diff so far but the paint is gone & I switched the fluid out @5,000. last year. Been keeping an eye on it & fill level remains & color is perfect according to the tip of my finger.

SLTitan, It’s true the filter is small, but the sump holds 6.5 -7 qrts, meanwhile used oil samples have come back good. Welcome to the Forum!

No more funny than having to remove the plug from your rear end and stick in your finger to check and see if your rear end is properly lubricated.
