CHEIF........the poll needed "polishing" and proper naming from the begining......I would be happy if you would "scrub" it and "re-design" it.........please put it on a sane track!!! and please keep us posted on WTF happened with yours. In another thread someone mentioned NISSAN was preparing over 80 "rear-differentials" to ship to those that failed.....can someone find and post this on your thread???????

I'm almost falling off the chair laughing, you guys are killing me. (GFY)

Seriously though, good stuff

Tom, I'll post any updates and I will get pics of the parts. I'm picking up my loaner ride at the dealer tomorow (hopefully not a ford focus) . I told them to save the parts and I will take pics of them. If I DO get a focus I'll post pics of that too.

Well even though (4?) people had the rear replaced, only one really had it go inoperable. That's me BTW. Not bad unless you are me . Also if they are only making 80 rears, that's also minute compared to how many Titans are on the road. I never saw the thread you are talking about, but I'll post all updates on my situation.

I'm sorry to hear that - it's got to really SUCK to have your rear end stop operating. I've had some problems before, but my rear has never totally stopped operating............

My bother's rear end in his '86 Buick Grand National was making a thunk on turns. It turned out his worm gear was bad. He bought the gear and replaced it fairly easy. As I remember, cost was minimal also.

Of course he wasn't abusing his 'stock' car either with 12's in the 1/4 mile.

With a new vehicle, I would have them replace the entire rear end, as they are.

Good luck to those with problems and have a good one.

Angry Uhhhhhh Ohhhhhhhhhh!!

Uh.........guys/gals..........glad I haven't signed the poll yet........I went out and crawled under my Tytan.......the rear differential is coated with black oil on the front and back and bottom......and where the drive-axle housings connect on the left and rights sides.....it is all black and oily like it is leaking there too........
I noticed the drips on the ground go to the front of the tranny too.......the skid plates are coated with oil.....the rear tranny is leaking oil ( just had tranny replaced a month ago-did not solve the downshift-shudder issue=Drivetrain Backlash). The midsection of the transfer case is leaking on both front and back gaskets also........6 leaks minimum under the Titan.....and just started like overnight??
When I get it to the dealer to confirm the leaks and problems I will post WTF is up for my Titan. My Titan has 7,968 miles on it and has been babied too!!
I guess I'll have to make a new poll.....for any Drive-Train problems/failures!!!

Peace-Tom Bass Ale

Yea CHEIF..It feels like Titan growing pains!! Well I'm guessing it is the transfer case leaking from the new tranny install and the oil is blowing all the way to the rear diffie and coating it when I'm on the hi-way????
I called the SM and he said bring-her-in on Monday morning.......so we'll see what where and why?
Why isn't your POLL in the POLL section on TT?????
