Tranny fluid change?

Dealer quoted me $150 to change the fluid and then informed me that Nissan only recommends drain and fill and not flush and fill. Is this correct?

I can't answer on the price. But with titan it appears to be an easy change to do yourself. drain plug in bottom is obvious. I have been told it's just like a HONDA no filters to change. Just drain and fill. It has been my experience that any flush and fill service(radiator or trans) is bs for a few more of your pennys. Be sure to use the recomended fluid as there does seem to be a difference these days. Anybody have a prob with tranny cooler lines leaking at radiator. Just had to fix mine. Tube from top to bottom of tank on pass side leaking at all spring clamps on rubber hose.

the plug has a strong magnet in it. It catches all the metal bits that are ground off. I doubt there is a need to flush. Hear of one guy that changed his twice, said the second change fluid was clean. Do go synthetic though.

If I recall correctly from the service manual, it describes disconnecting a line from the tranny fluid cooler while running, and filling until the fluid draining from the tranny cooler line appears as new.

I think if you just drain, drop the pan, and fill you only change 5 quarts.

JetTech's photos:

Hit next a few times to see all the tranny fluid change photos.

I think the price is calculated something like 5 x $13/bottle of NissanMatic J + $80 labor.

Hopefully they are dropping the pan and not just draining at the drain plug. Otherwise that would be $80 for 15 minutes.
