Cold Drivetrain question...

It seems that first thing in the morning during cold weather (below 35 or so), when I make the first couple right turns, the power isn't getting to the wheels. The tranny isn't slipping, but the engine is revving and it just doesn't seem that the power is there. Only happens during the first couple turns or the first couple minutes, then all is normal.

any ideas?

thanks.

Re: Cold Drivetrain question...

I notice that too but I baby the truck when it's cold anyway. Always figured it was some kind of protection (like a primitive version of the auto-adjusting bmw rev limiter).

Well the only reason I ask is that my 04 titan had VDC and did the same thing that your truck is doing. Now my 05 dose not have VDC and this truck is very smooth and tight, no slip at all unless I gun the throtle.

I'm wondering if the brakes might be grabing when you feel this slip.

Deep.

Re: Cold Drivetrain question...

Are you allowing your vehicle to warm up? If not, let it warm up for 5-10 min. before taking off. Fluid is very thick at that temp and does not circulate very well.
