Synthetic oil change mileage??????

My first oil change at 4500 miles was done with Red Line 10/30, I think, oil and a Mobile One 10,000 mile filter. Well, I am coming up on the 10,000 mile mark and wondering if now is the time to change the oil. It is still a light brown color, not really any change from original pouring. Also, I can't get the Red Line as cheap anymore, wondering some good recommendations to go along with that Mobile One 10,000 filter. Remember, it doesn't get too cold here in Atlanta and I don't use the truck for heavy labor like towing or anything.

I change my syn oil every 7000 miles. Better safe than sorry.

Your specific oil filter should be replaced after 10,000 miles. Your engine oil should be replaced @ 3000 for reg motor oil and 7000 for synth.
you may already know this, so i'm not trying to be a smarta$$.
There may be some motor oils that have longer oil change intervals, i don't know.

AMSOIL does advertise a longer interval. Its like 24000 miles with a filter change at 12000 miles. I think it is called the 24K challenge. I may be worng about the interval but they were really long but maybe not as long as I posted.

The jury is still out but Shell Rotella T Sythetic is working nicely for me so far. I will change it at every 5k miles instead of 7500 or 10 however.

I use mobile 1 5w30 every 3000-4000 miles. I have 13000 and some change on mine right now. Chris

Isn't that 5W40? Does it decrease mileage?
