New Axle Seal Installed

Just to let ya'll know, while I was putting my new wheels on, I noticed that the right rear wheel had oil on the inside of the rim. I remove my wheels and clean the backsides about every three months ( I know....OCD..) so it was a "fresh" leak. I took it to David McDavid Nissan in Houston and they replaced the seal, bearing and a spacer. They also had 3 Qrts. of syn. lube on the repair ticket. My truck has 55k miles on it. The service writer tried to tell me that Mobile 1 rear end lube probably caused the seal failure, and then called me later that day and tried to tell me that because the rear cover had been removed and re-sealed, the warrantee was void. I have not removed the rear cover but I have painted the rear-end, frame and suspention gloss black...( OCD again) He finally backed down and fixed it under warantee but acted like he was doing me a secret favor. What a Bozo.

Did he have any black eyes or choke marks on his neck? Just wondering how often he pulls stuff like that.

Come to think about it, I think his calm demeaner and gentle, soothing voice almost had me convinced that he was right. Does Nissan teach their service writers how to hypnotize their pray?
