So I was out climbing some hills and stuff in 4WD. then upon climbing one hill I hear BOOOOMM.. and you could smell the gear oil...
so I get off the hill and my friend shines his lights on my truck and you can see fluid leaking...
so I drive home and park the truck.. it seems to be running fine and I think I just blew a seal...
I take it to my freinds car wash so get it cleaned up so I can take it to the dealship... after cleaning it we look at the front diff and see a whole the size of a baseball in the diff.... DAMN so straight the the dealship I got...
it is there now.. I am thinking it will be tommorow before I hear anything....
I did a search and didn't see any instances with front diff blowing an I the first one???
I wish I could have got pics but didn't have the camara on me....
There was a prior thread where a guy said his front diff broke into several pieces. I don't think we ever saw any pictures. There have been a few posts about the retaining clips for front axle shafts breaking in front diffs.

yea I read all those but never saw anything about the actaul diff blowing to peices....
all I know is they better not say anyting about my lift....
There have been a couple of instances I've heard about where the circlip that holds the front axle in (primarily on the drivers-side for some reason) is not large enough to keep the axle from slipping out. I don't know about a hole in the diff though!
They're going to deny your claim because of the oversize tires, and unfortunately, they have a leg to stand on. Hopefully you get a good dealer, one willing to work with you. Good luck!
Buy the service guys a case of brew!!! They could have screwed you over but didn't.

Glad to hear they honored the warranty. The 35's are likely to be your problem, however.
I offroad quite a bit in a modded Jeep CJ5. It has a D-44 rear with 4.10 gears and big 36 inch Interco TSL Super Swampers. I have a little D-30 in the front. I have a locker in back. It's lifted - 4inch suspension, 2 inch body lift.
The tranny is out of a mid '70's Ford dump truck! 6.32 granny gear first. So there is tremendous torque going to the axles. I have to be VERY careful not to get into the throttle too aggressively in the lower gears. Great for crawling, but I'm afraid I'd grenade both the front and rear if I romped it. Those extra two inches of tire diameter do add up to quite a bit of extra load on the drive train.
I'm not saying to ditch your 35's. I am saying that given the weight of the Titan (my CJ is much lighter), you may grenade the front again if you get too aggressive. Crawling should be o.k. But with aggressive driving over rough terrain, I've seen this happen with Ford, Chevy and Dodge diffs with buddies I offroad with when running tires larger than 33's.

yea I am pretty excited about it... I am glad I didn't have to go round and round with them on this one...
I am not going to disclose the actaul condition in which I was under but I don't think I will be doing that again..
I am rarely in 4wd.. with my tires the pretty much handle anything in 2wd...
but after this I will be a bit more carefull...atleast I know the limits.. hahaha
Understood. Enjoy your truck. It's fun to go to the bad places and get through. Moderation is the key.
These are very good rigs but do not have bullet-proof D-70's or D-80's and custom splined axles, diff trusses and all that stuff you read about in Four Wheeler's Top Truck Challenge.
