How does installing this impact the warranty on the Truck? Is this diff rated for towing heavy loads?
See Magnusson Moss Warranty Act regarding warranty.
My understanding is that the TrueTrac is very likely to be stronger than the original carrier/spider gears and will not change tow rating (ring & pinion remain unchanged).

ok guys I kept up with the thread like up to page 5 but havent checked up on this thread for a while...was a final price ever listed or/and a link where to get? also, is this a do it urself job or no?
Not my hands, Austin posted a thread with the price (in the $500 range I think), delivery around the end of May, I think. It would be on the difficult end of the DIY scale and requires special tools: dial indicator to measure lash, carrier bearing adjuster tool, torque wrench, press to install carrier bearings, bearing puller (unless you buy new carrier bearings for $35).
This is awesome news for us tow-aholics, nice work, Austin. I'm all over a group buy on this.
And I'll probably have Austin's guy do the work. Sounds like he knows what the hell he's doing.

with a bunch of stuff on it.
Basically, anyone who calls Ed can order a TruTrac today for $490, plus ~$35 for carrier bearings if you desire, plus shipping. That $490 price is a combination of a nice deal to begin with and an 8% discount for getting over 10 orders. Last I talked to Ed, we had ~16 orders... but I haven't talked to him in a couple weeks.
Your credit card will be billed when the diff ships. The diffs will begin shipping in about one month from now - around the end of May.
