Will this take care of the rear diff. blow-out that some of us have been having?
Yes.
The Truetrac is much MUCH stronger and more stout than our OEM differentials. There are 900hp drag Mustangs using Truetracs. I did a 2 wheel burnout today on dry pavement, with 37" tires... no way would I have attempted that with the OEM diff, either 2 pinion or 4 pinion.

There were a couple minor issues with this beta unit. Those issues should be resolved by the time Detroit releases these for sale. Assuming they are resolved, all you'll need to do is buy a Truetrac and take it to a shop to have it installed. Bearings and axle oil seals can all be reused.
If you're a 4x4 with an OEM locking diff, you might need a short M14x1.5 bolt to plug a hole in the diff housing caused by removing the diff lock position switch from the housing. If you had to buy this bolt yourself, you should expect to spend at least $0.50 or $0.55. Not a big deal.
ok guys, if the part number in the original thread(913A582) is correct then summit racing have these listed and a price....heres the link so everyone can see if it seems fair...any cheaper places pleast post a link.

Too many mods to list PM me I'll tell ya.

I took my order up to the part where you add your credit card info and the handling charges for ground shipping (to my location) was $9.50. They are also out of stock and stated it wouldn't ship until 4/1.
I took it that far just to see the total cost shipped.
I'm going to hold back until I know for sure I have the exact part number needed for this mod.

The part number posted above is the same number my unit shipped with - 913A582.
I'd hold off ordering from Summit, though. My guy at Detroit is the aftermarket sales manager, and he's said he'll work us a deal. I bet he can beat Summit's price. Besides, Summit can't get them until Detroit ships them, and you'll know the day that happens.

Very nice. I don't have any doubt he can beat Summit's price.
Austin, do those mb wheels stand up to off road use (mild to moderate trails)?
I really like the look man. Congrats, on the truetrac, what a great product.

So far, they haven't been damaged at all. I've done a whole bunch of mud, some 60 mph bumpy trails (with some good whacks), and a couple curbs at probably 15 mph or so. They seem to be strong enough to stand up to what I'm asking of them.
