Do they have an estimated shipping date on the production units?
I'll get an updated time early next week.

Summit doesn't have them - they're waiting on Detroit to ship produce and ship 'em. I called because I was curious if they had some in stock, but they won't have any until Detroit makes them.

I'll get an answer to your question early next week. I've heard from Randy's and from Dynatrac that a high pinion D44 gear set should fit in the front diff with only slight case modifications, so it would seem reasonable that it's a standard carrier size and would be easy for Detroit to produce.
I've got the non-bigtow/off road rear end. Do they make a higher ratio gear to go with this??? Would love to bring this up to a equiv. of a 3.92 or so.

Does this mod reduce the chance for a rear diff blowup?
or is this just a limited slip/ traction mod for us off roaders?
This is for on-road and off-road trucks. Makes driving around town a whole lot more fun (especially in rainy, traction limited Washington where I live), because you don't have to worry about not being able to take off from a stop light.
Your OEM ring gear unbolts from the stock open carrier and bolts to the Truetrac. The Truetrac completely replaces the OEM open carrier, and yes, it greatly reduces the chance for a rear diff blowup. My original 2 pinion diff blew up while spinning my tires in loose gravel. The Truetrac has at least enough strength to spin both my 37" tires on dry pavement...

You could buy an OEM 3.36 ring & pinion to swap out at the same time you have a Truetrac put in. Other than that, no one yet makes a Titan specific gear set. There will be more options in the not-too-distant future, but right now options are a bit limited.
Been researching ECU's. I have found that there are several Nissan ECU's part numbers for the different trucks. 4x2 2.94, 4x2 w/vdc BT, 4x4 BT n/VDC etc. This is confirmed on a ECU TSB and using by using Cipher this weekend at the Houston meet.
I was going to do a rear gear swap but am leaning against it just because I do not know what the ECU will think of the change. I'm tempted to try it out just to see if the only money I will be out is the labor to install and dismantle.
What do you guys think? Do we need a lab rat? Or do we think it will work regardless of ECU?

Too many mods to list PM me I'll tell ya.
I'm going out on a limb here...but does the ECU control shift points? Perhaps the different ecus have different shift points for the different gear sets?
Just guessing...so don't flame me.

Um, don't know if the ECU itself controls them or the tranny computer. Either way, I doubt it matters. Shifts should be dependent on engine speed (rpm) not gear ratio.
Keep in mind that changing tire size will have the same effect on our trucks computers as changing gear ratios. For example, Austin has effectively gone to a taller (numerically lower) gear ratio by mounting 37" tires: from 3.36 to 3.00 (roughly). I keep using Austin's truck because he has made a more extreme change by going from 33" tires up to 37" tires.
Hey PT...would putting 35" on a BT non offroad titan give you essentially the same effective gear ratio as a nonBT nonoffroad titan?

Not quite. Adding 35's to the 3.36 gear ratio drops it to ~3.17. What's non-Big Tow and non-Offroad, 2.92?
But the added rolling resistance of the larger tires may make it feel that way. That's why when changing gear ratios to make up for larger tires you should go a little shorter (numerically higher) than what brings you back to stock. Using Austin as an example again, with his 37" tires a 3.77:1 gear ratio will bring him back to stock, but he'll probably want to go to a 4.10:1 to compensate for rolling resistance, heavy tires, wind resistance, etc.
