Royal Purple, Amsoil, or Mobil 1 for the Diff's.??

Hey guys,

I have a question for you all out there. What brand of differential oil are you guys running, in the front and the rear?? I've looked into it and it sounds like I'll go with the Mobil 1. I was considering Amsoil also, and I don't want to completly rule out Royal Purple. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

You will probally get a lot of different answers. I personally use Mobil 1. Just make sure to use the 75w140 in the rear and the 70w90 in the front.

Yes they have both. In the rear you want to put in the 75w140.

Who changes this on their own? What's the difficulty level?

It's really easy. On the bottom of your pumpkin (round thing in the middle) there is a bolt. Use a 1/2 ratched to remove it. There is also one (same size) on the top of the pumpkin. So the top one is to fill the fluid and the bottom is to drain it. Probally a 1 out of 5 on difficult.

Is this how its done on both the front and the rear diff's?? Are there drain plugs on both? Fill plugs on both??

Yep. Same on both. Rear is easier, because the front is a tighter fit with some things around it. But yes.

There are guys that will tell you each one of those 3 is the brand of diff lube they use in Heaven. One probably is better than the others by a slim margin. Fact is, guys have good luck with all of the synth lubes. Looks like the key is using 75/140. I went w/Royal Purple a week after I bought my '05.

What he said, except it is 75W90 in front.

Easy to do. Just keep filling until it runs out of the top hole.
