Drive Shaft

Does anyone know if a 4x4 drive shaft will fit a 4x2. The 4x4 one looks to be a little more stout.

Thanks,

Re: Drive Shaft

Just guessing here, but I think the 4x4 driveshaft would be shorter. The transfer case takes up some of the distance that is freed up with a 4x2.

Re: Drive Shaft

The 4X4 is thicker due to the material used to construct it is different than the 4X2. It may not necessarily be more stout.

Re: Drive Shaft

No, as noted above, they will not swap. The 4x4 has a steel front drive shaft (rusts) and an aluminum rear drive shaft (large diameter and does not rust). The 4x2 is steel and rusts.
