30K Maintenance

I tried a search with no luck so, where did everyone get their 30K maintenance done and what was the cost. My dealership said $500.

Re: 30K Maintenance

The dealer I go to charges $289.95. Just about everything on the list I can do myself or I have already done recently.

Nissan of Rochester

Change engine oil and oil filter -done recently

Lubricate door and hood hinges, rollers and links; inspect engine drive belts, tire pressure, lights, and cooling system hoses -duh

Rotate and balance tires -done recently after full brake replacement

Inspect brake pads, discs, drums, and linings for wear, deterioration or leakage -brake replaced recently and the use of the work "drums" scares me a bit

Inspect parking brake mechanism and adjust as necessary

Inspect brake lines, hoses and parking brake cables for leaks, cafing, abrasion or deterioration

Lubricate prop shafts; inspect for damage or leakage

Service performance inspection -what the hell is that?

Replace air and fuel filters -K&N charger kit

Inspect fuel lines, hoses, pipes and fuel cap for leaks, looseness or deterioration

Inspect exhaust system for cracks, holes, loose joints, or broken supports -Banks installed

Inspect fluid levels of coolant, battery, transmission, windshield washer, brake master cylinder, and power steering system -done regularly already

Inspect steering gear and linkage, axles, suspension parts, and drive shaft boots for damage, looseness or leakage

Inspect transmission fluid/oil, transfer case oil, and differential grar oil for correct levels and signs of leakage -changed to synthetic long ago

Re: 30K Maintenance

does anybody have any documentation that states anything regarding the warranty and doing the scheduled service maintenance? I agree the 30 K is a waste but...

Re: 30K Maintenance

you dont have to have that done to maintain your warrenty. Everybody knows it a complete rip off, including nissan. To force you to pay that to maintain warrenty would be so ridiculous they would be sued immediately.

Save your money. They wont look at any of that stuff, but they will laugh all the way to the bank.

Re: 30K Maintenance

Does "topping off the fluids" include the gas tank? won't be long and $500 will be a deal if they fill it up.
