4x4 binding

i have owned let alone drove numerous 4x4s and of course they all have some binding in 4 wheel drive making it harder to turn but my titan wont even move if you turn the wheel past the half way point one way or the other with 4x4 engaged

Re: 4x4 binding

You shouldn't be using 4WD in situations where there is enough traction to bind the drive train while steering, that's how parts break. Remember it isn't an AWD fulltime system.

Re: 4x4 binding

I don't have any such problems. I use 4 lo when backing trailers up all the time and make several very sharp turns with little to no binding. And that is backing on a concrete driveway with lots of traction. But then, maybe I'm too use to my Jeep with a pair of Detroit’s.

That does sound like a problem. If I understood you, with the wheels off the ground the front wheels will not rotate when in 4wd and the steering turned?

Re: 4x4 binding

If your truck is still under warranty, I would take it by and have Nissan look at it. It sounds like you have a problem.
