I will soon be having an engine flush. I will be replacing my engine oil, ATF, and Front and Rear-end oil. Replacing it with all Royal Purple. Any recommendations on which weight to order.
Why are you having the engine "flushed" that is not recomended if you ask me. I would get whatever 5/10w30 motor oil that is your fav. 7qts, Tranny is Nissan matic J only ??qts anything else will ruin your tranny and void your warrenty, front diff is 80w90 gear oil 2qts, and the rear is 75-140 full synthetic only just over 2qts..
I've just came back from the garage & the mechanic said my car needs a transmission flush, i don't know what it means. Got back home, went to a site i trust, and found this article -
fixya.com/support/t719072-flush_engine_transmission
It's a good site, i use it often, but there car section is new & i don't know how good the experts are, can you please help me, I'm quite afraid to damage my car.
I agree with what CraigG said except about the ATF. If your under warranty still then only use the Nissan matic J stuff to avoid any kind of hassle with warranty work. However, Royal Purple does make ATF fluid that is compatible with our transmission, it is just not a warranty approved fluid. I've asked RP about whether or not their ATF meets or exceeds the matic J and this was their reply:
Max ATF can be used in a Nissan that specs Matic J, but it is not
warranty approved fluid. It does exceed the specs, just not recognized
as a warranty replacement. We would have to either make a copy of the
Matic J or use their formulation and we are out to out-perform the OEM
fluids.

The need for a transmission flush depends on the number of miles and how your Titan has been used/abused. If you look in the Titan service schedules 1 and 2 you will NOT find in it where a transmission flush is specifically called for. Only the Premium schedule calls for a replacement every 30,000 miles. There is also this paragraph at the beginning: Transmission Fluid/Oil, Differential Oil, Transfer Case Oil Visually inspect for signs of leakage at specified intervals. If towing a trailer, using a camper or car–top carrier, or driving on rough or muddy roads, replace
the fluid/oil every 30,000 miles or 24 months (60,000 miles or 48 months for
Altima, Maxima, Murano, Sentra, and Versa CVT fluid).
I flushed the transmission on my '91 Ford Ranger pickup at 185,000 miles. I haven't seen any negative affects from that. Some dealers have told Titan owners to not flush their transmission. If you're willing to spend the money and it makes you feel better I say go ahead. Alternatively you can get just a transmission oil change where they drop the pan, clean the filter and then add fluid to get it back up to the correct level. But that doesn't change all the fluid, just some of it. Just be sure that if you pay for a flush that you actually get a flush.

Do the flush. New fluid is always better than broke down old fluid. You don't need to do the engine flush. Just make sure you do your oil changes when they are due. And def. replace the front and rear diff, and transfer case fluid.

I'm far from being knowledgeable in this subject, but from the bit of reading i've done, it seems like flushes aren't recommended. I added an article in a previous post, you can read it and see. Then why do some people recommend it?
An engine flush and a transmission flush are two different things. I haven't heard of any Titan owners doing an engine flush.

Good luck,
Olga.
Dealers recommend it because it is an easy way to make money.
