Mag-Hytech Diff Cover. FINALLY!!

Just picked up my diff cover. Talked with Jerry at Mag-hytech who stated he only has prototype brackets for abs lines for '04 w/ steel covers. I will be the tester for the bracket which will be here tommorrow. Will be installing with a frind who also will be installing his Mag-Hytech cover on '04 Titan Sat. Will post install pics hopefully Sat or Mon. Can't wait. Also asked Jerry if he would be developing a transmission cover. He hasn't yet but thinks would be a good idea. If anyone wants to contact Jerry at Mag-Hytec to help push him along on a transmission cover that would be great.

P.S. I got Diff cover #6.

Do you know the fluid capacity of the diff cover?

Per instructions 4 1/2 quarts. I will be using Amsoil severe gear 75w-140. Jerry at Mag-Hytech stated LE (which I'm not familiar with) is 5 deg cooler than amsoil. There is an indepth article in the July issue of 4 Wheler mag.

4.5 qts??? Am I getting mixed up or is that a little over double the stock capacity? If so sounds like a good mod

Nice cover! That's not a cheap fill. 4.5 quarts of amsoil. But worth it!!

Re: Mag-Hytech Diff Cover. FINALLY!!

Finally got pics of diff. Took 4 qts. to get to the top line of dipstick. The cover fits very well. Took some initial temp readings. At 62 deg ambient temp with 20 min of 45-50 mph driving diff temp was 90 deg at hottest point. 70- deg at coolest point with IR temp sensor. Looking into temp gauges to mount in dash. The prototype bracket is very well made and fits pretty good. I will be talking with Jerry at Mag-Hytech to let him know how it is working. I would like to see fasteners for the hard brake line over the cover. I am very happy with this cover. I did use 75w-140 Amsoil Severe Gear as I feel it is one of the better oils for towing heavy loads (IMHO). The 05 should not need a bracket per Jerry but the 04 will.

Re: Mag-Hytech Diff Cover. FINALLY!!

I paid $230 for mine and had Jerry from Mag-Hytec send me a brake line bracket. He is not shipping them with the covers right now since they are "prototypes". The brackets do fit well and I hope he powder coats the production ones. I picked up my cover from my local performance shop who sells Mag-hytec. They can also be found from internet stores. You can also buy direct from Jerry. His number is 1-877-786-6816. He is a great person to deal with. Again please bug him about developing a transmision cover for the titan.

If you could please contact Jerry to let him know if you can use the stock brake line cable bracket or not he would greatly appreciate it since you have the 05 cover..
