P0455 and P0222 codes?? Help!!!!

p0455 and p0222 error codes???
04 Titan
Driving on the highway and the B-LSD light came on and engine and transmission went into safe mode. Was able to limp it to a dealer and these are the code that popped. They are wanting to replace the throttle body and vent control valve for $1100($775 for parts). The truck has 51000 miles and is out of warranty. I feel like I am being ripped off.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Jed

Re: P0455 and P0222 codes?? Help!!!!

Here is what the Nissan Service Manual describes for P0222

The electric throttle control actuator consists of the Throttle Control Motor, and Throttle Position Sensor which tells the ECM the info it needs to to control the Throttle Control Motor to make the throttle valve opening angle properly in responce to driving conditions.

Listed possible cause of P0222: Bad Harness or Connectors, Throttle Position Sensor 1 circuit is open or shorted, or bad TP Sensor, or Bad Electric Throttle Control Actuator.

Accelerator Pedal Position sensor 2 cicuit is shorted, Bad APP Sensor.

IN Safe Mode, The ECM regulates the opening speed of the throttle valve to be slower than in Normal Mode, so acceleration will be slower.

Re: P0455 and P0222 codes?? Help!!!!

thanks so much for the info. I am going to get a new gas cap and hopefully clear the one code. I talked to a former Nissan tech and he said the p0455 code will pop sometimes if you fill your gas tank while your engine is running as well.
As for the throttle body problem it sounds like I may have to lump that.
Thanks again for all the help

Shouldn't that be covered under the powertrain warranty. I thought the powertrain warranty went was 60,000 or 70,000 miles.

There is also an emissions warranty. I think it's 80,000, check into that. I think is required here in KY.

Good point! The emmisions warranty is regulated by the fed's. All parts covered are listed in warranty info.
